Ron OakleyChairHit someone, um
Ron OakleyChairWell I mean.
Okay.
Ron OakleyChairIt's only agenda. Yeah.
Ron OakleyChairI've got right here.
Ron OakleyChairYep.
Ron OakleyChairR S one.
County AdministratorYes, sir. That's a recognition of our annual star performance of the year. Okay. And and if the Chair will allow me. Uh
Obviously this year.
And so as we gathered the nominations for this award, I will say that There are probably twenty nine hundred Pasco County employees. It probably deserves to be recognized in one way or fashion. Unfortunately we we limit it to select the best of the best. And that's what we're recognizing here today with this resolution. And if you'll allow me, we have a quick video that our communications team have put together to kinda talk about the three award winners.
Ron OakleyChairRight.
Unidentified speakerVoice AYeah.
2020 was a year filled with challenges and opportunities. To not only rise to those challenges, but to innovate and excel. This is an organization of top performers. Today, we recognize the best of the best. We are proud to announce Pasco County's 2020 Star Team, Star Performer, and Star Leader of the Year.
Faced with the nation's biggest health challenge in more than 100 years, many in our community lost jobs and quickly ran out of money to pay bills and buy basic necessities. The Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES, provided millions of dollars in relief to Pasco County citizens. But ensuring that money was distributed to the people who needed it most took a small army of Pasco County team members from several departments. The Pasco Community Cares team tackled this monumental
task, creating program guidelines and a user-friendly application process, ensuring the right technology was in place, crafting messaging to accurately inform our community, and addressing hundreds of customer questions and concerns. It was a truly collaborative effort, with both individuals and teams adapting and evolving with each round of the CARES program throughout the year, providing service excellence at the highest level. The Pasco Community Cares team serves several thousand people, paying out over $4 million in much-needed
aid with compassion, respect, and integrity.
With the advent of COVID-19, the Pasco County team had to quickly adjust to restricted office work conditions, with many working remotely for the first time. The demand for online collaboration and meetings soared, and with that, the need for information technology support and training on the available products offered to the enterprise. Todd Kersey, who heads up the support in day-to-day operations for our telecommunications team, took on the challenge of implementing the necessary online collaboration and meeting tools. Todd tirelessly
provided the necessary support and training across the organization as we successfully transitioned to a remote work model. Additionally, Todd devoted a significant amount of time assisting teams across the organization with hosting their WebEx meetings, including board meetings, team leadership meetings, and Citizen Academy meetings. This volume of work included more than 75 meetings and over 200 hours of individual support time. Through all of this, he continued to receive glowing comments from
his customers for the support he provided. Todd Kersey is a clear choice for Star Performer of the Year.
It started with a clear vision. Create Pasco County's own newsroom. Tambri Lane has made this her mission, each step of the way, transforming a fledgling public communications function into the Media Relations and Communications Department. Small but mighty is how she describes this team of five that has quickly become one of the most trusted and effective government communication resources in the Tampa Bay area. In 2020 alone, Media Relations handled more than 1,000 media contacts and produced more than 100 videos. They've helped Pasco County's
social media following grow by nearly 50% since 2017. Tambry's commitment to service excellence guides this growth. And it's no accident that Pasco County is often the first call local reporters make when they need a subject matter expert or an input on a regional issue. Now more than ever, Pasco County's stories are being told in a way that highlights our team members' dedication and bright future. In 2020, Tambri challenged her team to innovate in the face of the pandemic. Resulting in hybrid virtual event
videos that ensure groundbreakings,
New facilities. and team updates were not lost to social distancing. Virtual interviews and ready-made packages helped keep our media partners informed. Tambry quickly jumped in to assist with cares-related initiatives beyond program messaging, helping shape SOPs and an online experience to better serve our customers in their time of need. Being Pasco County's newsroom means telling our stories, and Media Relations strives to highlight the exceptional work of our team members and departments
in each branch. Whether it's the County Administrator's Podcast or An HR benefits video Census support messaging. An exciting new sports campus or infrastructure project to improve our communities, we're ready to help you shine. We're much more than just news releases, and we're continuously analyzing our outreach and strategies for an improved customer experience that maximizes limited resources. We look forward to a future of growth, innovation, and potential with her leadership.
Unidentified speakerVoice Band you live in an evacuation zone, we will call you to find out if you need to stay in a special needs shelter. And I messed that up. There's your blooper reel right there. I
Ron OakleyChaircan do that.
County AdministratorSo as I mister Chair, the there this has obviously been a a different year and we've had team members across the board step up and I'd be remiss to s to not notice that uh the clerks team was involved in is part of the award package for the team of the year. that helped with the CARES program. So we have a lot of them in attendance today, while as many as we can get in a socially distanced room and resolutions for them. So if y if whether if the board wants to read the resolution, Okay, we can bring them then up. You can see on
the dice and we get some photos.
Ron OakleyChairWell I'd like to say first um This has been an unusual year for all of us and um I will say uh Mr. Bowes your work with your team and Um What they've done and accomplished during this year has been great. I mean it's it's actually awesome for what we've done in this county compared to what others have done in nearby counties. That's because of you and your leadership with your with your team. And um I will tell ya I miss I miss seeing the
quarterly meetings 'cause I like going to 'em and talking to the folks and And actually being able to tell 'em to their face. that uh certainly appreciate everything they do for the for the county and the citizens of Pasco County. So Uh with that if you're not going to be able to do
Mike MooreI think everybody probably
Ron OakleyChairwants
Mike Mooreto if that's okay. Say something. So um yeah, congratulations to the obviously the entire team. Um and so Todd and Tambry, congratulations to both of you. Um, you know, your jobs took you in directions this year's that was not expected. But uh you you took on the those p your positions, you know, with uh obviously with um unexpected um How can I put it? Um you know it it you know, you just went through time that was not expected to happen, right? And uh
changes. Everything that you did throughout this these last eight months and nine months is very much appreciated. I know by not only the people that sit on this dais, but the entire community. You both would be an asset to any organization, whether it's the public sector or the private sector. And we appreciate you all very, very much. And again, the the entire team. Thank you all.
Ron OakleyChairMs. Darkey?
Kathryn StarkeyVice ChairYeah and I I would just echo that. Um Uh I think we've the county has just done remarkable in these trying times and um I'm really glad that you're doing this and honoring um these two and and everyone who's getting awarded today. Um Cost la if sitting here last year, who would've thought we would have had a year like this? But uh congratulations to everyone and Let's hope it's gonna end soon, right? Um but I'm I'm really proud to be a part of this county, no doubt. Ms. Mr. Patrick.
Christina FitzpatrickI would like to say thank you. I haven't been here all year but it was a very nice to meet all the assistant admi county administrators and staff. They helped me have a very smooth transition into office and I would just like to say thank you very much and I'm looking forward to working with everyone in the county and staff if anyone has questions. Don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
Jack MarianoMr. Mariano. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Um you know, I want to start with I want to talk about Todd for a second, because what Todd stepped into was just near nothing but amazing. It was a challenge, had never done done before. We looked at different things, we've tried to improve technology. And I think Todd, the great work you did helping all these committees, and it wasn't easy at the start, we had little bugs to work out along the way. But your persistence, your your expertise, your whole team with you, helping everything go through was tremendous all the way through. And I think the county is going to benefit for many, many
years to come with the efficiencies of using technology that's going to make it the commonplace thing to do. Instead of having people drive an hour back and forth here or there or other meetings that we've experienced around the play, uh what you did for this county was phenomenal. And and Tambry, what you did helping keep the word out there. as far as things going on. Your team as well was phenomenal and uh the CARES team. You know, Kathy, with all the stuff that you had thrown at you and all that money that we could use if we could get it out the door efficiently, it was a challenge. Many, many challenges across the board, but your team stuck with it every
step of the way and really made us look good and and helped our citizens tremendously. So it was a it was a star year for our county.
Ron OakleyChairOkay. Uh if you would read the resolution.
Ron OakleyChairBefore I read the resolution, I just would like to say thank you on behalf of Nikki Alvarez Solz, your clerk and comptroller. She would have loved to been here today to read this resolution. She has a statewide meeting that she's sitting on this morning and couldn't be here. But um wanted to express her gratitude for the collaborative collaborative effort between uh the county and our office and uh what a great success the uh community has received for the efforts that we put together. So thank you. Okay, a resolution by the Board of County
Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, commending the twenty twenty Star Performers of the Year. Whereas each year one employee, one leader, and one team of employees of Pasco County is named Star Performers of the Year and are recognized for their their accomplishments. And whereas Todd Kirsty has been selected to receive the 2020 Star Performer of the Year Award, Tambri Lane has been selected to receive the 2020 Star Leader of the Year Award and the Community Cares Act implementation team of more than 80 individuals
from nine different departments, including the clerk's office here represented by their team leaders, Brian Hoban, Manny Long, Lisa Sdanett. Danielle Bierman, Jessica Blesser, Marcy Esberg, Tambri Lane, Christina McGonagall, and Samantha Grant have been selected to receive the 2020 Star Team of the Year Award. And whereas in order for an organization to become Premier, it must attract, grow, and support a workforce of servant leaders that are dedicated
to improving the lives of people, contributing to a purpose larger than their individual job, and performing at the highest possible level day in and day out out. And whereas those these 2020 award recipients consistently demonstrate our core values with an impeccable work ethic, dedication to service, excellence, and achieving quality outcomes in every situation. They serve as an example to their fellow team members of going above and beyond and exemplify the expectations of the Star Performer
of the Year. Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said Board hereby congratulates our twenty twenty Star Performers of the Year for Pasco County and comm commends them for their outstanding efforts in supporting the County's journey to premiere.
