2mJack MarianoChairOkay. Um So C twenty two was pulled, I mean a withdrawn, so C thirty two? Commissioner Weightman.
Jack MarianoChairI simply pulled this This item just because the dollar value of of the the contract, seventy six million dollars So I just wanted to pull it and Recognize that hey, we're We're reading the consent agenda and um Just wasn't comfortable just pushing an item that large through consent. But if there's any other comments, Mr. Carbala.
Mike CarballaYeah, I think I could ask uh you know, obviously the nature of the contract is is paving. Other multi-year contracts. I think I'd ask Mr. Breitenbach to kind of explain uh the difference when we talk about contract authority versus budget authority on some of these items and how they're they're both a little different. Eric?
Eric BreitenbachMorning, members of the board. Eric Breitenbach, Assistant County Administrator for Internal Services. Although the dollar value stated on this contract is $76 million, this is w what effectively the board would be doing is awarding a contract and setting a cap capacity over five years for work that can be done up to $76 million. So it's a a contract capacity. Yeah, individual projects as they come up and as public works identifies roads that need to be repaved, then they'll actually expend dollars. But
this is a we're setting a contract capacity versus actually spending dollars today with this contract.
Jack MarianoChairOkay. And I think it's a great way to do it because when you do it that way, you don't have to renew every single year. And we've had time we had gaps, we had overlap, et cetera. So doing a five-year extension, uh five-year contract all the way through is is this is the best way to go for efficiency.
Eric BreitenbachYes, sir. And I will add this is uh contract to two vend two contracts, one to two different vendors to increase the flexibility of the operation. Yeah.
