Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners, resolution number 22049. Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, recognizing Pippin Academies of Pasco County for its service to students with disabilities. Whereas the Pippin Academies was founded as an exceptional student education center in 1999 to serve students with learning disabilities in Hillsborough County, Florida, by providing a therapeutic educational environment to help students with learning disabilities with an individualized
education plan to reach their fullest potential developmentally, socio, economic, uh, emotionally, and And whereas after 14 years of success in Hillsborough County, Pippen Academies of Pasco County was founded in November of 2013 after recognizing a growing need for educational services for students with learning disabilities. And whereas Pippen Academies of Pasco County opened its doors in August of 2014, operating out of
a shopping center in New Port Richey with 200 students. in grades three through ten and whereas today Pippen Academies of Pasco County now serves three hundred twenty-five students in grades three through uh twelve and provides a transition programs uh for students aged eighteen through twenty-two And whereas Pippen Academies of Pasco County now operates out of their new 14-acre facility in New Port Richey establishing a permanent physical
operation to match their years of passion and commitment to Pasco County and the students and families who need them. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby recognizes Pippen Academy. Of Pasco County for its services to students with learning disabilities, done and resolved in regular session with a quorum present and voting this twenty-fifth day of January. Twenty twenty two. Um on behalf of uh Pepin Academy's Foundation and Pepin Academy's Pasco Camp campus, we're honored to receive this proclamation, uh acknowledging the hard work of all of the teachers, administrators, students and families that make Pepin Academies a reality. And we really truly grateful for the support of Pasco County. The County Commissioner Oakley. Uh Chair Chair Person Starkey, um everyone that has made uh Pepin Academies a reality here in this county. And we hope one day to expand throughout Pasco
County and meet more of the needs of this growing community. So thank you for this opportunity to come and speak and thank you for acknowledging the great work of all of our teachers and and uh administrators.

And um board members, Pepin, uh at first I have friends whose children um graduated from Pepin in Hillsborough and they were looking at Penellus, but We were able to convince them that Pasco had far greater need than Penelis and um I think it proved true. And uh we're s we're so glad you're here and we we look forward to your expansion. Mr.

Your staff, your teachers and There's a lot of good work happening at Pepin Academy. I certainly appreciate the meeting we had and um the idea of what you're trying to do and hopefully there'll be more successes as the years come. So for all your good work. So thank you. Thank you very much. Uh

Yeah, I'd say w way back when we're talking with Christian Sclair about trying to come up here and and talking about a go down and see what was going on down the Hillsboro. Uh it was phenomenal work that you were doing and was so glad you decided to come to Pasco and Congratulations on your expansion, new building and I think you're just gonna keep on helping more and more families and really improve the education for kids that otherwise might get left behind. So thank you for what you do.
We certainly have a need, so thank you for all of you everything that you do and serving all of our children.
Thank you. And I just wanted to extend a thank you from Dr. Skronik. Unfortunately, he's not unfortunately and fortunately, he's not here today. He just had a newborn baby in in their home, um, starting their memories with the baby. So he definitely wanted me to thank you and make sure that y'all know that he appreciated. your support.
