Resolution number 23-007, a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, recognizing the designation of Pasco County as an age-friendly public health system by Trust for America's Health. Whereas Pow Pasco County Government Senior Services, the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco and Penellus, and the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County, DOH Pasco, Launched a partnership in twenty twenty one to help Pasco County become an age-friendly
public health system through the Trust for America's Health Age Friendly Initiative. And whereas the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County had to demonstrate several of five key potential roles for public health, including connecting and convening public sectors and professions that provide the support, services, and infrastructure for healthy aging, coordinating existing supports and services to avoid duplication, identify gaps. And increase access to services, collecting data to assess community
health status and aging population needs, conducting, communicating, and disseminating research and best practices and com Complete. Complete menting. Um existing supports and services. And whereas the benefits of joining the Trust for America's Health Age Friendly Public Health Systems include gaining access to information about how to best Help aging communities, public recognition for participating communities, and building re partnerships within communities of older adults. whereas the Trust for America's Health Age Friendly Initiative helps participating communities build a become a great place for all ages by adopting access to key services and community activities as well as helping to identify environmental and policy changes. that address older adult needs and whereas this designation ensures health equity for all citizens of Pasco County. Health equity is achieved when every person in our county has the opportunity to attain and maintain good health and when one's own health And
when one's health is diminished due to conditions in which they live and work.

ANRAS, this initiative aligns the DOH PASCO's Community Health Improvement Plan and Pasco County Government Strategic Plan. health and well-being. Now therefore Be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby recognizes Pasco County's designation as an age-friendly public health system by Trust of America's Health, done and resolved in regular session with a quorum present and voting this twenty-fifth day of October 2022.

And I just wanted to take a minute just to thank the Department of Health and specifically Megan Carmichael for really leading the charge on this designation as well as our partner, our partnership with Area Agency. They're phenomenal and they helped out with this. And of course, our team members, our staff members with senior services who continue to work diligently. This designation is gonna be another step forward. forward for our community and the seniors in our community and just want to take time to thank everybody for that.
