Resolution number twenty three dash zero four zero. A resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida. commending Rudy Jones for thirty two years of dedicated service to Pasco County and congratulating him on his retirement. Whereas Rudy Jones began his career with Pasco County on May twenty first, nineteen ninety, with the Parks and Recreation Department and ended his career as a maintenance technician for with the Facilities Management Department. and whereas during his career with Pasco County. Rudy

has earned respect from all county departments, including fire rescue, court administration, the property appraiser, and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. And whereas using his proficiency in many different trades, Rudy worked diligently on many of the county's buildings and structures to ensure all Pasco County team members. We're working in a safe and healthy environment. And Raz Rudy often worked beyond his standard scheduled hours, by working late nights and sometimes into the early morning, even when on call. to make sure that any

issues within the county facility were resolved safely and efficiently. And Raz Rudy kept the County's generators, alarm systems, and elevators running by coming in to work early to ensure that daily business would not be disrupted. And Raz, on October 7th, 2022, Rudy officially retired from the Pasco County Facilities Management Department and is a greatly missed dedicated team member who took pride in his work, exemplified professionalism, and was a great friend to everyone who worked with him. Now,

therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby commends Rudy Jones for his 32 years. dedicated service to Pasco County, congratulates him on his retirement and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors. Done and resolved in regular session with a quorum present and voting the sixth day of December 2022.

Uh you I've noticed you for the past six years 'cause I've been around here and how you worked in this boardroom and they call you the king of the boardroom I guess 'cause 'cause it seems like when we have issues here it it gets going and And nobody really notices it too much other than yourself. and some of but I I'm sure that all of us appreciate all you've done here in this boardroom and here for the county in their thirty-two years. Um Amazing

job and Looks like to me you could still be working here but um you don't have to quit now. So But uh I know you got got things you wanna do but when you get tired of those things come back and see us. So thank you very much. We're more than happy to have you back. So thank you.

Rudy, you were uh your dedication to have everything working here all the time. Anytime was a slight problem which wasn't too often, it was n nip and fix real quick. So what you did all your prep work ahead of time really paid off in great service for us. Uh greatly appreciate you. Got a great team behind you. I'm sure they miss you too, and I'm glad to see the supporting here today as well, as we do.

Mr. Chair, may I say something? Yes. So um I actually wanted to vote aye on this. It was really hard not to say aye. Um Rudy, ever since I've been with the clerk's office and that's going on fifteen years now, um, you've always been there. Uh so he has just been So amazing to work with in my office. I'm gonna miss you. My team is going to miss you. I can't believe we're gonna walk around the halls and not see you anymore. Or I haven't seen you in a little bit. But um I did give him a hug on his last day. I'm glad I got to see you.

But um I have got to tell you, every time uh we've had some some some things going on in the office, you're right there. You come up with amazing solutions, and you're just study and calm and I just want to tell you how much I appreciated everything you have done for our office and congratulations and I hope you are enjoying retirement. You are certainly earned it. Thank you very much. That means a lot.

Yeah, I didn't mean I just I'd just like to thank all the commissioners and Nikki and Jeff and Aang for letting me work beside all of you and congratulations. on the new commissioners. Jack on your position. Mr. Oakley, your position. And the couple of special things I wanna say. One is to Mr. Eric if you don't mind me saying Um

He's blessed. Mr. Eric has been a a uh a a blessing to Pasco County, uh especially facilities. And I remember a statement that you said a very wise man Told you one time when he made an officer that there's certain people, there's two types of people. One that has to salute you.

And I think on behalf of facilities, And Pasco County, we all want to salute you and say thank you for your heart. Appreciate that.

But actually he he wants to thank all the support staff and all and how the board appreciates all the staff and employees work for the county because we do support you do a good job you don't get told a lot of times how good a job uh but you are right on top. I take you over any staff I've ever seen before so and I know the board feels the same way.
