Good afternoon. Joe Richards, County Attorney's Office. We have for adoption today an ordinance by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners amending Chapter 114, Section 114-41 of the Pasco County Code of Ordinances. Creating a minimum wake zone within the unincorporated area of Pasco County in and around the Gulf Islands Lagoon, providing for applicability. Providing for repeal or providing for severability. Providing for inclusion in the code and providing an effective date.

There's one slide that shows the Markers. Those crosses and various colors show where the markers will be placed. Uh that will be labeled minimum wake slow speed zone. protect those entranceways in and out of the lagoon and that blind corner at the top of the slide. And after public comment, we recommend you adopt the ordinance.

MarianoVice Chair

Okay. Thank you.

Board members any questions?

StarkeyChair

Well, looking forward to doing this in the uh area of uh the South Channel of Gulf Harbors, but it's in the works. Okay. But I'm fully supportive of this.

MarianoVice Chair

All right. Um Any of the board member comments before you ask for public comment? Anyone from the public hearing to speak to the item?

StarkeyChair

I have no one signed up and no one on Webex for this item.

MarianoVice Chair

Okay. I can I'll just say that um I am with a group of people that own property around the around the edge. Um I didn't bring this forward. A resident from the association brought it forward to ask staff to go forward. I'm going to be abstaining from it. Um and I'll sign the proper documents that Mr. Steinsteiner will provide.

So approval.

StarkeyChair

Is there anyone online to speak to it?

MarianoVice Chair

No online?

StarkeyChair

I've already said no, no one online. Okay.

MarianoVice Chair

All right, so I got a motion to approve. Have a second. All in favor, say uh roll call vote.

StarkeyChair

District one, Commissioner Oakley.

Weightman
