District five Chairman Mariano.
Aye. Thank you. Uh Commissioner Starkey.
Um I just I was trying to see what the project was and I just can't tell what we're doing there. So just Tell me what we're doing, that would be great. This is right behind where that um multi that workforce housing project is going, Dominium by Ancload High School.
Morning, Mr. Chairman Commissioner, I'm Jason Mickle, Public Works Director. Thanks for having me up here this morning. The it this this project is well needed in that area, as you know, Commissioner. Uh a lot of old infrastructure, very low lying roads. Um it's been piecemeal together there for quite some time. This is this is a one year about a one year study. It's gonna look at full flood abatement for that area. Okay, it's a study. Yep, it's just the study for the first year. Um there's also a water quality component that's gonna be part of that study as well to see where we can improve some of water quality that leaves that area.
So full scale study and then we'll look, you know, what comes out of that study, we'll look to implement some type of project after that.
So why is it limited to just that?
So on your map. Yeah.
When that's a big neighborhood.
It's just one
little area.
We're gonna look at the majority of the neighborhood, but those two specific spots were are are the lowest lying areas that we wanna focus on. Those are the ones that have suffered some damage in the past from flooding.
And um that's our land behind it, right? With that. We have an easement behind it?
I believe so.
That's the easement that I hope that we can do. Help the community get to the park. Along that easement. all those homes that they could get behind there they could connect to the holiday uh rec center without having to get out on Anclo Boulevard, go all around Strawburn, down and around, or down to nineteen and around. So it'd make a lot of sense for us to have a a pedestrian, um, golf cart, whatever it could be. Very
easy since we own it all. We just need a bridge to go over whatever that little canal is into the parkland. So I don't know if that could be part of your look see, but Or fix? Yeah. Okay. Thank you. Move to approve.
Thank you. And just to say, by doing the study on this year, it provides the opportunity to get a grant later on. So great step forward. Thank you, Mr. Carmella. And Jason. All in favor, sh uh roll call.
District one, Commissioner Oakley. District two, Commissioner Weightman. District three, Commissioner Starkey. Aye. District four, Commissioner Bradford. Hi. District five Chairman Mariano.
Aye. And I'll move to Commissioner Oakley. Commissioner Oakley.
We're already ready for that.
R fifty five. Okay, sorry.
Yeah, R fifty five, sorry. Yeah. I thought
I was
R seventy three. R seventy three. Not gonna get the commissioner items today. I don't know.
