What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Okay, who's next again?

Unidentified speakerVoice A

That would be me. I don't have anything.

Kathryn StarkeyChair

Thank you. I do not have anything. Oh shoot. Okay. That's neither that's a me. Okay. Um I don't have anything on here from tourism but I'll say um And I don't remember the name, but there are some great things going on at the Sarah Vandenberg um tennis complex. Uh I think a a a famous person is moving here. I'll I'll give you that name next time, but Um, I haven't been out there in a while, but They're very proud of what's going on at the Vandenberg Center. Um So last

week we did uh this walk with Senator Book. That's Lauren Book right there. Um and she does this every year. She starts in Key West and she walks to Tallahassee. And uh it's to bring awareness uh about uh child sexual abuse. So Uh I and my staff um did the first part of the walk. We didn't do the whole day. But um there's a great turnout. We started out right down here at the complex where all the landscaping is missing just south of us. And um

Pasco kids first. We start uh their whole staff walked and And it was great. We walked down to the um River Crossing Publix. And then they went on to the tax collector's office. Um I had uh I went to the C D B G D R Town Hall. I didn't take any pictures of that, but that was really Well attended and um I think everyone appreciated getting to know what that's all about and and there were some good ideas from the staff even on on what we might do and one of

them was from Chuck Puccini who used to run Bauer. Um which is a big uh con commercial or industrial contracting company. And um And I agree with them a hundred percent that we need to find a way to get more sand back on the encloped key. because that's a barrier island and we do not need that to go away and pretty soon it's gonna break into three pieces on the north end. But it is shockingly thin. So um I definitely

want our staff to work with Pinellas County because part of it's in Pasco, part of it's in Pinellas, to see how we can go about putting some more sand on the uh west side. Um, I had my quarterly uh Harbor South Leadership Council meeting. Thank you, Marcy. She two nights in a row, she explained her C D B G D R um program um with the money. Um and again our uh What's his name that's there? The Stormwater guy. Or I

can't remember his name right now. They didn't they didn't give me Oh I can't remember. He's up there talking on the right.

Oh well, I can't remember his name right now.

Barrett Dow.

Barrett Dough. Yeah. Barrett does a great job and um I'm really grateful he came out. Um I attended the Grand Boulevard Redevelopment Workshop. That needs I think we're gonna revamp that a little bit, right? Um Mr. Engel and uh figure out a way to get more participation and more meaningful discussions going on how we can do um a plan for that area like we did to the Odessa Town Center area. Um here's the Moth the Sparos uh event this morning. And

um And uh the tree mitigation fund resolution from 2008 is currently being updated by Patrick and Elizabeth. I'd like to add to the resolution to allow for purchases of rights to trees. um conservation easement and tree canopies, et cetera. So it's a thought that um was brought to my attention that maybe we can um kind of buy the rights to preserve some trees in developments? So a kind

of an interesting idea. Uh actually came from the attorney's office. And um So I wanted to explore that.

And that's all I have.
