Welcome and Planning Commission hearing procedures

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

I'd like to welcome everybody today. We're the Planning Commission. We're appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and we meet meet twice monthly. We serve as a local planning agency and we hold public hearings and transmit to the Board of County Commissioners. Recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments and development code amendments. Rezonings and conditional use requests. Planning Commission is the final decision making body for special exceptions. Certain appeals, variance requests, and certain

alternative standard requests. However, final decisions may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. Anyone is in opposition to any comprehensive plan amendment, land development code amendment, rezoning, conditional use, or any item where the Planning Commission uh transmits a recommendation to the County Commissioners, it's important for you to attend the appropriate county commission meeting. Those of you who are not familiar with the format of our meetings, we

have three sections. They have continuances, consent, and regular items. Uh we'll go through the continuances first and then we'll go through the consent agenda. Is if if there's anything on consent that you'd like to have heard today. uh we'll raise your hand and we'll have it pulled for for discussion. If not, uh once we go through continuances, we'll vote on them all at one time and approve the ones that are left on

continuance. The uh any that are removed from continu consent will go to regular items, and those those items will all be discussed today uh by the applicate uh applicant and the anybody that has any questions about it from the public. Applicants will have three minutes to make their presentations and concerned citizens will have three minutes to voice their concerns. um then the applicant will have an opportunity to respond.

I don't think there's been any requests for time additional an additional time, at least I haven't seen any. Uh Denise? That's correct, Mr. Chair. Okay, thank you, Denise.

Oh right, all right. Um, so anyway, this is a good time for me to m remind you that if you have a phone, which probably most of you do, please put it on the in a silent position so we don't disturb anybody that's gonna speak or somebody that wants to hear. And b before we start the regular meeting, um We open the meeting for public comment. If there's anybody here who wishes to speak on a topic not on today's agenda, this would be your opportunity to come speak. And if we
