resolution recognizing Community Planning Month

Um It is uh October is a community a national community planning month. And I just wanted to present a resolution uh that the Board of County Commissioners um passed and read it for the record and present it to the Planning Commission. So I'll go ahead and read that. Um by the Board of County Commissioners, resolution

2:00:06number twenty-zero zero eight, a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County. Florida recognizing the month of October as Community Planning Month in Pasco. Whereas change is constant and affects all cities, towns, suburbs, counties, boroughs, townships, rural areas, and other places, and whereas community planning and plans can help manage this change in a way that provides better choices for how people work, live, and play, the goal of planning is to maximize the health, safety, and economic well-being for all residents. And whereas community planning provides an opportunity for

2:00:36all residents to be meaningfully involved in making choices that determine the future of their community. And whereas the full benefits of planning requires public officials and citizens who understand, support, and demand excellence in planning and plan implementation. And whereas the month of October is designated as National Community Planning Month. Throughout the United States of America and its territories. And whereas the American Planning Association and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, endorse National Community Planning

2:01:06Month as an opportunity to highlight the contributions sound planning and plan implementation make to the quality of our communities and environment. And whereas the celebration of National Community Planning Month gives us the opportunity to public publicly recognize the participation and dedication of the members of the Planning Commission and other citizen planners who have contributed their time and expertise to the improvement of Pasco County, and whereas we recognize the many valuable contributions made by professional, community, and regional planners of Pasco County and extend our heartfelt thanks

2:01:36for the continued commitment to public service by these professionals. Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby recognizes the month of October as Community Planning Month in Pasco County, done and resolved in regular session with the quorum present in voting twenty this twenty second day of October twenty nineteen. So as the Planning Commission, you all play a very important role in in the Pasco County planning process as our expert body. For that, you all deserve this recognition and our thanks as PDD
