On Dre's Island right there. What a great guy he was just hanging out there, just and it was so cool just having cook right in front of everybody. That picture you saw was Nancy Benitez from Gulf Islands. She came in to volunteer. That's Daryl Hull from the Surtoma Club. Uh Colleen and uh Nancy made cakes. We got the point distillery right there. They're doing a free
sample thing and as they're waiting for their contract coming up with a distributor, uh they were able to actually sell bottles for s do samples and then sell bottles as well. People are loving what they were doing. Great group of guys, great products, having a great time. Uh keep going.
Ooh, hope it didn't rain.
We had uh we had rain the first night and it was pretty heavy, so we had to kinda cancel off to about forty five minutes. Second night we had about an hour's worth of rain, but we had enough tents that people stayed under it and then they stayed and and finished off playing. Uh this past weekend no rain at all. It was great all the way through. Uh the Tampa Bay Waterski team was out there. They were out there the previous Saturday and Uh actually previous Sunday, and they were here, they're here this Friday, Saturday, and they'll be out here this coming Friday, Saturday at six o'clock. We're also doing a 5K run.
Um we'll make it a family fun event. We actually brought a carnival out there where we have like nine rides for kids. Uh and we're just kind of like just to help it go along. Uh Commissioner Simpson made a donation, Ajax made a donation to actually cut the wristband price down and just to get the attention going the carnival operator just had a giveaway passive to the kids so we just gotta go around just get kids out there just to get it get it trying it going so it's been a great success. This weekend's bands is awesome. John Batista's band from Shadow Fax is gonna be playing from three to six
on Saturday and um uh Shaker. Something or other. Shaker Society is the like number one rated band in the in the region. They're gonna be out there a little bit later Saturday night, but everything's been great. Uh the food's been great. So you want to come out and take a look? Um it's been it's been awesome. Uh the staff out there has been absolutely incredible. We ran a sand soccer tournament, Jeff Wills from Florida Football Coast, uh put seventeen teams together and uh they just had a ball.
They loved playing like right playing sand soccer right on the beach. And we had uh our deputies out there, our uh firefighters out there and one of the one of the firefighters scores a goal and the the celebrity just runs and just jumps in the water. But uh yeah, just really really good competition. Uh and then we had uh the Sans a volleyball tournament that was out there as well. So yeah, a lot of a lot of good stuff going on.
