Wrap-up and additional commissioner reports

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Ron OakleyChair

What is did we do R forty five? Yes, sir. All of them are done? Yeah. Man, we skipped over 'em here and there and everywhere. Uh Jack, you have one more item?

Jack Mariano

Just one more picture and I know you're gonna cover it, so that was just a uh we I was at the Founders Day Parade. It was a great, great event. And uh Commissioner Oakley was leading the way right in front of me. So great day.

Ron OakleyChair

Yeah, it was a good day. But

Jack Mariano

That's all I have stuff.

Ron OakleyChair

That's all you have?

Kathryn Starkey

Well I I forgot some I forgot two things but right now I can only remember one of them.

Ron OakleyChair

Well well since you forgot one of them and have one, we'll let you do the one and then we'll adjourn for lunch.

Kathryn Starkey

Um I uh Marcy um let me know that she's a volunteer at the Enclove Lighthouse. She got engaged at the top and then I had the weekend wrong. It's the second weekend of the month, not the first weekend that it's open to the public. Um oh okay I remember what the other one was. If you remember a number of years ago I was able to s to get um like three million dollars from the legislature to sleeve the pipes in Gulf Harbors. Um they they um

They put all this this liner in all the uh I guess the sewer pipes and what was happening was there was so much salt water intrusion in there it was swamp in the wastewater treatment facility that we share with New Port Richey and it was really causing them problems. Um and so they finished they finished it all sometime in the last year. Well I was at a meeting Friday night On the Gulf Harbors Park, and the residents told me that the water quality is

so much improved in the channels from that project. So I wanted to share that with our utilities department and all of you. And I'm gonna call Chris Browse, who's the one who you know sent that money our way, that it made such a difference. And I noticed it yesterday. yesterday when we were going on our um day or Saturday when we were pulling away from the dock in our house and boat in Gulf Harbor said I could see like three or four feet down from my um on my my

uh dock poles at which I've never been able to do that before. So what a difference just cleaning sleeving those pipes. What a difference that made. Yeah.

Ron OakleyChair

Yeah.

Kathryn Starkey

So

Ron OakleyChair

that's good.

Kathryn Starkey

Yeah. Great

Jack Mariano

news.
