Lane Mendelssohn has instilled into his daughters, Abby and Rachel Mendelssohn, the value for giving to those in need. Lane's measure of personal success in his daughters and their kind hearts and generosity. Abby, eight years old, worked with her father to donate three hundred and forty pairs of shoes and over seven hundred pairs of socks to needy kids in Pasco County. Rachel, eleven years old, worked with her father to donate seventy
backpacks filled with games, toys, and other activities to Pasco County Homeless Shelter Family Homeless Shelter. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby recognizes the Mendelssohn family and at Vantage Point AI for their community involvement and dedication to the citizenry of Pasco County. I would like to say thank you for everything that you do for our community and for our county. It's a blessing to have you here living in Pasco County and everything that you do for us. And I would like to also mention, I didn't hear it in there. But I I really want to appreciate the girls again and mention Abby and Rachel because they are an amazing, two amazing young ladies that I'm sure will excel very well in life. So thank you. And
in one of those photos that you saw, um the the uh it was a fundraiser for um uh the uh group that what's it called again? The baby shower. What what was what's the name of the I'm trying to remember. Sun Coast Voices. Sun Coast Oh yeah. Uh and that is a group that works with the Sheriff's Office and um the uh when fos when kids are taken in um and they go to foster parents. They m they frequently
leave with nothing from the families. They have no clothes, nothing. And so um there's a nonprofit um Sun Coast Voices for Kids that um helps it's a group of f um at uh Lightem, what what's the name of it? Guardian Ad Lightems who um who who uh help help and it's it's just such such such a great organization and I'm really grateful that I mean they donated so much, car seats, cribs, we it was great. So go ahead, Christina.
I was just gonna say s one of Sunk Host Voice's main missions is to help keep kid children out of foster care. So if there is a non-relative care or a relative care and they just need a bed or they just need a crib or they need anything that they might need. They can provide that to the caregivers, the grandparents, and everything. And then instead of having another child go into the dependency system, into the foster care system, they can go into a non-relative or relative care. Thank you. Yeah. So Lane was
I hope that we'll do it again this year. Because uh each year that I participate in a charitable giving opportunity, my goal is to give even more the next time. So I'm hopeful that we'll do it again. And I just want to say thank you to all the commissioners. Thank you to everybody who makes the county run so well. I've lived here since 1987. My daughters are here. I hope that they'll live their lives out in Pasco. And uh I thank you for the acknowledgement today. Um, although I
I don't do any of the charitable giving for acknowledgement, I do it for really three reasons. One is to obviously help people in our local community who are in need. Uh the second reason is to uh inspire my daughters and show them how to be good humans and And uh so they can grow up and be responsible citizens in the county. And the third reason is to hopefully inspire others. So uh I hope that other people who uh have seen what we've done take action themselves and it becomes uh a chain effect. So thank you so much, really appreciate it.

I'd like to say I I thank you and your wife and and your children for all that you do for the citizens of Pasco County and what you do for. different groups of citizens that we have here. Uh, your guidance for your children or the future is Amazing and it's awesome that you're able to do this type of thing and do this time of work, that you're making a difference in your own county. And we appreciate you as a citizen of Pasco County. And the friendship that Lane and I have gotten. So thank you. Thank you, sir.
