2020 public hearing schedule, vacant position, remote comment policy
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.
The source document
The county’s agenda for Planning Commission, Sep 26, 2019
The published PDF. Its text could not be extracted — it is an image-only scan — so nothing in it is searchable here, but it reads normally.
The county’s minutes for Planning Commission, Sep 26, 2019
The published PDF, as served by the county. This item is one entry in it.
What was said
Machine transcription of 3m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 94% of 16 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.
Okay, so that was the last item, but before you adjourn, just wanna go over with the Planning Commission and I will hand this out and also send you an email. in about an hour or so. The Board of County Commissioners has adopted the 2020 public hearing schedule. for the public hearing of the planning the board and of the planning commission for 2020 and I just wanted to provide this to the Planning Commission and again I'll also send you an email on what those dates are. It's
it's pretty much the typical the s the Thursday that the Board County Commission so the Board of County Commissioners will meet the the Tuesday, the Planning Commission will meet that Thursday first hearing of the month will be in Dade City, second will be in New Port Richey. Um there are a couple of exceptions, uh but for the most part because There might be elections or there might be a budget meeting that the board had to change and therefore the Planning Commission's meeting changed. Um but these are the
public hearing um uh dates for 2020. And I've provided that to the clerk's office as well.
I know you advertise for the vacant position.
Yes.
When does that close?
Good question. Uh that closes October eleventh. Uh the actual advertising went out on the twelfth and uh the closing date for that is October eleventh.
So if you know people that are tend to apply, make sure they get their applications in by October eleventh.
Yes, please.
Right.
Do you also want me to address the remote? the discussion on the right-of-way.
Having people attend from remote like remember that somebody spoke you want to go ahead and
so basically uh there was some additional clarif clarification from the c uh from county administration uh that uh the preference is actually The requirement is to use the same board policy, which is that we don't allow public comment from remote location. They would actually have to uh physically be at the uh public hearing where the public hearing has taken place. Um Remote is only for a situation where we think an item is on consent and for whatever
reason it gets removed and the subject matter expert may be at the remote location. Subject matter expert on staff that is, for staff to be able to answer questions.
So the short version is the county administrator does not want us using it For anybody other than staff.
Which is the board policy, so to follow the board policy.
