What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Okay, I'd like to call the meeting to order, please.

So if we could start by standing and a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the

Connected City

United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible,

Christopher Poole

with liberty and justice for all.

Charles GreyChair

Okay, Madam Clerk, we have the roll call, please.

Here. Here. Yeah.

Here? And proof of publication, please.

All right. Thank you very much. And um I think we have minutes to approve.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Uh motion to approve the minutes from the March 16th, April 20th, May 4th, and May 18th meetings. Second.

Charles GreyChair

We have a motion and a second. Any further discussion on the minutes? If not all in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed, like, sign. All right. Motion carries.

I'd like to welcome everyone today to the June 8th, 2023 Planning Commission meeting. Uh we're the planning commission and we're appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and we meet twice monthly. We serve as a local planning agency and we hold public hearing and transmit to the Board of County Commissioners our recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments, land development code amendments, rezoning, and conditional use requests. Planning Commission is the

final decision-making body for special exceptions. Certain appeals, variance requests, and certain alternative standard requests. However, final decisions may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. If anyone is in opposition to any development code amendment, rezoning, conditional use, or any item where the Planning Commission transmits a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners, it will be important for you to attend the Board of County Commissioners meeting.

For those of you who are not familiar with the uh

way we handle the meetings, there are three s three sections really. Uh continuances, consent, and regular items. Uh we'll go through continuances if there's been a a request from a applicant or the staff uh for continuance, been our custom to approve uh those requests. unless there are extenuating circumstances. Then we'll go to consent. Those are items where we've not received any letters or personal notices of objection. And

those will go through one at a time. After you hear that hear it called and you want it to be discussed today, please raise your hand. We'll have a poll from consent. for for the discussion. And then we have the regular items. Those are items that are either pulled from consent or already on the regular items, things that need to be discussed today to get approval from our board. Applicants will have three minutes to make their presentation and and and

objectors or questioners will have three minutes to state their concerns. Following the presentation, the applicant will have an opportunity to get up and respond to those questions or concerns. And um there's been a request for at least 24 hours in in ahead of this meeting in writing for extra time. Such time may be granted. I think there are a couple of instances when we've added requests.

Denise

That's correct, Mr. Chair. There's 30 minutes granted plus rebuttal to Ms. Will Hite's team for P15. 18 minutes granted to Ms. Jane Grant for item P15. Five minutes granted to Mr. Andrew Pines for P15, and 10 minutes granted to Ms. Will Hight and her team for P16.

Charles GreyChair

Okay.

So while while we're uh before we get started, I'd like to uh ask everybody to take your phones out and put them on silent position so we don't have any interruptions while someone is speaking. We do that myself.

All right. Um

Also um One other point I'd like to add that we haven't added before, but for clarification, we request that you address the Planning Commission. Uh comments are not directed to per persons or personally against a Planning Commission member or a team member, but rather directed to the at the issues. This provides mutual respect between Planning Commission members and the public. We'd like you to observe that please throughout this meeting.
