Resolution 21-250 opioid memorandum of understanding adoption

1:05:53Okay, so uh uh the item that you have before you is to adopt resolution twenty-one two fifty. Um that would in fact uh

1:06:10It is a it is a resolution that makes the county part of the accepts the what is known as the Florida plan um for opioid um

1:06:26For the proceeds of the opioid litigation, um as outside counsel explained to you in your shade meeting, uh the mem the Attorney General's office has circulated a memorandum of understanding of how Any proceeds from settlements of this litigation would be distributed among the counties and cities and the state in Florida. They have proposed a

1:06:56memorandum of understanding, which is the first step into a formal settlement agreement with the state with regard to these funds. Outside Counsel recommends that you, in fact, show your approval for that memorandum of understanding, as does the county attorney. The resolution that we provided in your packages under 107 not

1:07:27only does that, but it Um it starts to move you towards compliance to being a qualified county so that the money will be directly distributed to Pasco County. Section six of the original resolution that is in your agenda package has a uh establishes the Pasco County opioid. task force um based on some of the concerns that were expressed

1:07:57earlier today um and to me privately.

1:08:03with the composition and membership of the Opi One Task Force as we had delineated it in the resolution. Um I provided you all a revised resolution. That uh the composition membership of the opioid task force shall be established by a separate resolution. Um that is the only change to the resolution that is before you. Um the resolution also provides the

1:08:34authority for the county administrator to negotiate the interlocal agreements necessary with the largest municipalities in Pasco County.

But it but I know Commissioner Starkey wanted to Weigh in on the membership of the ta task force as well. So it may be better just to bring that back to you at

Of you have one, you have not, and then we'll bring you back a at your next meeting another resolution that sets up its membership that you can you can discuss.
