He is the vice president of manufacturing. Coca-Cola is to my to my left as you're looking at us. Um Senator Hooper uh Um Representative Yeager. I think Commissioner Weightman's up there. Commissioner Mariano is up there. So

2:06:36um I didn't get my piece of ribbon. They were supposed to cut it little pieces and give it to us and we didn't get it. But I had some. I thought that the gentleman gave uh our lead speaker was Mr. Paul Perkins, who came in from Indiana, the CEO of Amritrol, the probably the world's largest manufacturing trade. training equipment manufacturer. And he gave us some interesting slides, so um I'm hoping that we get him back to PDC. But I just had three that I emailed. Did those come in?

This is in in manufacturing specifically. And that is insane since COVID hit. How many people are saying we got stuck? And we couldn't have the s the the pieces that we need to put what our puzzle together and we've got to make bring those back to America and make those

2:08:24This one was amazing. This is the trend in rapid technological change. So in nineteen hundreds our knowledge du base doubled every century. Nineteen forty five, every twenty-five years. In nineteen I think that's eighty-two. Twelve to twenty three months. Twelve to thirteen months, sorry. Today Our knowledge base doubles every eleven to twelve hours. That

2:08:55that is insane. Watch out artificial intelligence. Right, and one more.

2:09:02Oh I have two more. That one is This is what's hurting us. in manufacturing. And this is in the country, not not here. But fifty nine percent said that the number one one issue is skilled skilled labor. And then um do you I he he mentioned that another an another one that the both number one and number two were were had to do with workforce so I don't we don't have that slide. Okay,

2:09:38Oh that's career and technical education. A lot more people are um starting to pay attention to career and technical education and if you see it's um women are really rising in that a lot less people are heading to four-year degrees. So uh we are we are on top of it here in Pasco County. So um the other interesting thing if you don't mind me saying this Mr. Perkins who's one of the world's experts on manufacturing training, said that um when

2:10:08they decided they were gonna put in four regional training centers, they went around the United States and looked at all the programs out there to find the four best and we were number one.

2:10:24Well that's great.

2:10:25And we were the first one that um they went into and that he thought our program was so good that it should be replicated all across the United States.

2:10:36And I and I remember talking to Tom way back when we were up I think in in D C we talked about how they really liked what we're doing so much that they might want to train other people. I says well that's good, but I want to train him somewhere else. Let's train him right here.

2:10:50Yeah, so Tom Tom went up to Indiana last year with uh some our staff and uh we had met we had met the Ametol folks when we went with uh uh uh Mr. Wannick, the CEO of Acid Furniture, he flew a whole bunch of us up to uh Indiana and 'Cause they they have a great manufacturing program and Amitrov was there and Um but when we asked the manufacturers here what kind of training equipment do you want us to have 'cause we are industry led, um, they picked Amitol. And so

2:11:20then we went up there and met with them, well Tom did I so in Indiana, they learned more about us because the CEO of Amethrol hadn't been there when we went to Indiana and um and he's heard nothing but accolades about us and he came and And when you saw the result, I think I think it was

2:11:36Jack. Commissioner Starkey was a tremendous night. Uh you'd be really proud of what was there, like was it packed house, couldn't get any more people in there. And the presentations like this the people that got to speak about how they we helped change their lives was amazing too. Yeah. So great work. Yeah.
