Legislative delegation shovel-ready projects

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Alright, so um legislative delegation, I'll touch to that first. I it was a good presentation as far as they listened to everything we said. A lot of discussions honed into if we're gonna fund projects, we're gonna make sure they show our ready. Um Representative Maggot actually talked about roads, having them ready to go, so getting the design is what's key to get these things funded. They didn't want to put a project through that takes a long

time to get through. You know we've had trouble with sometimes Swift MUD projects getting them done. By the time we get it designed because of different reasons they take so long, it looks bad on them, they don't like it. The representatives feel the same way. Get projects that are shovel ready, we're ready to go. And that'll be the easy way to go. So everything we'll look at and this is one of those projects.

Kathryn Starkey

So did they did we enroll this here, I guess? Um we put forward our three or four or whatever was I think I have it right now.

Jack MarianoChair

Yeah, we put we we gave them the list. Question come down to bottom lines the shovel ready. So whatever it may be and what else coming forward.

Kathryn Starkey

Are they shovel ready? Did we give 'em I mean we were told to give 'em shelf shovel ready stuff, so hopefully we did. That wasn't really a secret.

Dade City

Ralph Lair Intergovernmental Affairs Officer said Yes, the projects you all selected are all shovel ready. Um and again I'll I'll repeat those. Sea Pines Neighborhood Flood Abateman. Parkway Boulevard through Lake Badgett the sidewalk. And the Trilby Road rehabilitation.

Kathryn Starkey

Well, we also said You

Dade City

also included uh the sidewalk over on the west side the sponsors uh that have that road Chose not to do that sidewalk.

Kathryn Starkey

Oh really.

Dade City

So you'd either have to do four

No.

Kathryn Starkey

So nothing in in uh nothing in the center. You have

Dade City

one in west, you have one in central

Kathryn Starkey

and you have

one in east. Okay.

Remember me next year.

Jack MarianoChair

I d I d I did I I did say if they did have a project they they really liked, they wanted to bring it forward, we can go bring it forward too. So whatever whatever's gonna get them fired up to go get us money, wherever it may come from, we're flexible.

Dade City

And then Representative Magart, as I as I told you, so he did not name a project by name. He just he just said when we go up to Tallahassee he would like to make sure before we start asking for any additional funding, we make sure we complete projects previously funded in previous years.

Kathryn Starkey

Do we have things that are outstanding?

Dade City

We have one.

Kathryn Starkey

And what's that?

Dade City

Can't car road.

Kathryn Starkey

What and what's going on with it?

Dade City

They're getting ready to award the bid to put it out for construction.

Kathryn Starkey

Okay.

Dade City

That's a water and sewer line. Water and sewer line.

Kathryn Starkey

Okay. I when you're done that reminded me I'm gonna bring back some Sorry. It's a Ban it's a it's Brandon's. Same setting that.

Jack MarianoChair

Okay. Thank you, Ralph.

Kathryn Starkey

Thanks,
