Resolution 24-148 Premier Community Healthcare Day
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Got a motion. Second. All those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Motion passed five zero. Welcome, Joy. So glad to see you and
Happy to be here. So thank you very much for the recognition and you know on behalf of our board of directors, our volunteer board of directors, and again something that's unique about Premier and our board is that at least fifty-one percent of our board members or somebody in their household have to be patients of our sites. And so on our behalf of our board, our advisory council, our capital steering committee, our and Over 300 care team members. I want to thank you for this recognition and your support. Um and our mission
says everything about us is that we're providing accessible health care services to all. We don't turn anybody away. I am a patient at Premier as well from a dental perspective and a medical perspective. So that gives you should just make a statement of the confidence that I have in our care team and their high quality We have. So my dad's a doctor, he's 84. Um, lives in Texas, still practicing, and he's moved to Dr. B. I call him, he's always been my Dr. A, but um, Dr. Aaron's my uh doctor here, and um I always
bounce it off of her first and then call him for a second opinion. I'm not sure how he likes that, but um, but again, from our perspective, is you heard the numbers that the impact that we have? Over 130, 40,000. Patients come through our doors every year, and we're going to continue to expand. Over the last 10 years, we've gone from five clinics to the 18 clinics. We were about 125 care team members. We're now over 330. We just opened up two brand new facilities, and thank you for your support in allowing us and
supporting us to build those two facilities: one in Zephyrhills and one in Newport Ritchie. I would invite Invite anybody to come see them. I'm happy and the team is wonderful at showing off what we do and provide high quality and compassionate care. So thank you again for the recognition. Really appreciate it.
Let's marry. Joey, I wanna say um since we met many years ago, what you've done in this community has been absolutely phenomenal. You grew for a small to just all the facilities. I mean the facility that Rick Becker's just architecturally set up for you looks absolutely fantastic down there. Um I was there for the groundbreaking Commissioner Starkey as well and I think Commissioner Starkey's made every thing after that and I've I've I've struggled to make 'em, so thank you for being there representing us. Um The savings that you must provide uh for us for
instead of paying us paying hospitals back for emergency care, et cetera, has gotta be dramatic dramatic numbers. Um I think as you come talk to us as far as we try to help you for getting through the ne the next year and probably years after that, those numbers will go will resonate a long way. If you think about the numbers from 143,000 people It's almost like two and a half. visits per resident of Pasco County. And it's only a s much smaller population. So this is a significant uh help that you're putting to the community 'cause
you've got to have your health. If you don't have your health you can't work, you can't go to school, you can't you can't function. So Everything you're doing is phenomenal. And then in the dental thing, it's critical. Absolutely critical. So thank you for the great work you're doing. Keep up the great work. Thank you. Mr. Weightman.
Thank you, Chair. You know, Pasco County has we've really expanded our health care infrastructure at all levels. We were at a groundbreaking this morning on a new ER site off Meadow Point. We have Premier Health and and the work that they do for another demographic of our population. You know, Joey, it's Just fantastic how far Pasco's come and you've you've seen it and you've worked through it and You know, our health care generally is working through the growing pains that Pasco County has, so You
know, thank you and your team for your mission driven you know, focus on health care to our communities and happy to have you here today. Thank you. Appreciate it. Ms. Starkey?
Yep, I I I would echo all these comments and um you know I have a family member who's been uh a patient of yours and we're very appreciative of what you guys do for this community. So um and your facility is fantastic. Yeah.
Ms. Yeager.
It's the architecture is wonderful. It's it's an asset to the community. No. Thank you. Ms. Yeager?
Yeah, and I know firsthand the impact you've had on the community. I worked with at risk families and um what you guys do is just critical to our county and um you truly are a lifeline for those families. Thank you. Thank you.
Joy, thank you for all that Premier does in our county. I um I've been a part of it. I've been supporting Premier and y'all have done a great job and 147,000 people that you see every year. Very thankful for that. That's our citizens here in Pasco County. Uh with all the infrastructure with the growth of all the different hospitals coming into Pasco County and I think there's four or five now but The benefactor of all all the hospitals and all the work you do is our citizens of Pasco County. So
we're very thankful for all the service you give us. So we appreciate it. Thank you. So um with with that we'll come down and get a picture.
Okay.
Thank you.
Joe, Joey, I want to think of one more thing too. When we did our strategic plan years ago, the word premier came up and you did not oppose us, we greatly appreciate it.
The temple.
Yeah, let's see.
Very good.
