Affordable housing workshop request

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Okay. Um So I think it's me. Um so we already did the support of bay care. Um Commissioner Moore. Yes good You know, I was I was invited to go um drop a puck. I think that's what they call it. Yeah. That's something but with my family situation, I couldn't go. But it's my understanding that one of the women involved with that is the daughter or granddaughter of Lord Stanley. Yes. Who the Stanley Cup was named after, so she was here. So that's that's very good. Um Pia

or I don't know, I have a name.

MarianoVice Chair

Yeah, that's that's what it's named. Yeah.

StarkeyChair

That's

MarianoVice Chair

what it's named after.

StarkeyChair

So I um I have been working with Marcy and the um and Terry Pitos and others talking about um affordable housing and accessory dwelling units and other things and how we can kind of um move this forward and what are other counties doing to try and um stave off a housing crisis in um We decided um in a group phone conversation last week that this was best done in a in a

an affordable housing workshop. So that um The What's going on can be articulated to all the commissioners and if we need to do some policy changes or we have some ideas. I have one concerning accessory dwelling units that we could um uh get those things um worked out. I'm just wondering if anyone else has anything they would like to discuss so that we can just Maybe have one and tackle a few items. We have the budget

workshop and I think that's gonna be Probably long enough that we shouldn't add anything on that day.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Correct.

StarkeyChair

So if you have any other things that you wanted to talk about in a workshop format. Um That we agree upon. Um, let me know. But I'm a asking for us to in the next, you know, few months, whatever, Um Have an affordable housing workshop.

Right. And do you need a motion? No? I don't

MarianoVice Chair

think so. We gotta see if it gets the dates Oh yeah.

StarkeyChair

I mean to

MarianoVice Chair

us.

StarkeyChair

They'll get back to us.

MarianoVice Chair

Okay. Yeah.

StarkeyChair

I mean we already have one in May. I don't think we need another one for May.

And it's not a um it's not a budget thing, it's a it's a policy thing, so It's not

Moore

what the rest of the yeah.

StarkeyChair

It does need to be worked out in a budget. So in regards to the budget.

Yeah. I hope to go somewhere. Um Okay, I think that is it um for today.
