Consent agenda with pulled fire rescue items

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

StarkeyChair

thirty-seven. Board members, is there anything else you would wish to pull from the consent agenda? Can I take a motion?

Fitzpatrick

Second.

StarkeyChair

All in favor? Aye. Opposed? All right. We will start with C eight, Commissioner Moore.

Moore

Gee, there he is. Morning,

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Commissioner Weightman.

Moore

Morning. Just j like I mentioned last time, since we have um So many of our members from Fire Rescue here. I just wanted to continue to pull off the consent items that have to deal with fire rescue so obviously the the people of the audience and people at home understand um these uh items for either either either purchase or um Any type of other um Issues that we're uh dealing with.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Yes, sir. Uh so C eight um is a sole source sole source purchase from uh a company I believe it's called ASP. They provide the blue card safety. Uh blue card is what our incident commanders use for uh basically safety and incident management of on-scene structured buyers, largest, and stuff like that. Um this started in Pasco County uh about five years ago, I believe, is when it started to be implemented. Um we put all the commands. staff and uh battalion chiefs regular incident commanders through the initial training. Um

this is to continue that down uh all the way through our driver so we kind of keep building that training program up all the way through. For approval.

StarkeyChair

All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Uh C nine. Mr. Moore.

Moore

Same thing, Ch Chief, if you can explain what this is. Uh

Unidentified speakerVoice A

C9 is additional purchasing authority uh basically for fire boots um with the number of firefighters we have to hire for each of the stations um uh as we continue to grow. Um this is just adding more boots to our our PPE. Okay. So

Moore

this will speed up the process of getting them in and allowing additional purchasing authority. Oh so we're not waiting. Okay. Great move for approval.

StarkeyChair

Second. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Thank you. Then we have uh Commissioner Morsi seventeen.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Um C sevente is actually a a a major step forward uh for Pasco County Fire Rescue. Uh it's a we received a grant from uh the state uh Port Department of Health uh for EMS, it's an EMS grant, uh to add cyano kits uh to our battalion chiefs and EMS supervisors. Um they're pretty expensive, um, which is probably why we haven't had them up until this point. Um but they're they're Basically be if you're pulled out of a structure fire um unconscious, y your chances of survival are very small without this medication. Uh it's it's basically vitamin B twelve. Um but without injecting

it it doesn't reverse cyanide. So this is actually a huge, huge thing for the counter. Excellent. Excellent. Move for approval.

Moore

Second.

StarkeyChair

All in favor? Aye.

Moore

Aye. Thank you, Chief. Appreciate that. No problem. Thank you.

StarkeyChair

Thank you very much. And the other three items were withdrawn. So we are now C eleven. C eleven. Oh I have one more? Right. Sorry. Oh, okay. C eleven.

Unidentified speakerVoice B

Good morning commissioners. Doug Anderson, facilities uh assistant manager for Uh facilities management? Uh C eleven is a demo of in uh selective interior over the summit building. Uh we uploaded the incorrect requisition into Civic Clerk. Uh the correct requisition has been provided. Uh request approval.

StarkeyChair

Move approval.

Moore

Second.

StarkeyChair

All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay. Thank you very much. I think that's the end of the

Moore

I did.
