November and December BCC meeting locations

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

getting this done on today's agenda when the request came in. So thank you and your team for that. We really appreciate it. It's important that we got that done this month. One thing I do need um consensus on from this board. Is Our November B C C location. Um Originally we had a meeting Yeah, tu

uh

Jack Mariano

The first nov first Tuesday of November, um, we decided that needed to be canceled that meeting as we did what the two meetings ago. I think we did. Yes. Okay. day after the election, which probably everybody in here will be up till the next day or next morning. Um so

But Um as you know, when we have um

When we reorganize that is always done in the county seat. Always has been, done in the county seat. Um but the November 17th meeting is scheduled for New Port Richey so I'm asking that we can change that November seventeenth meeting to Dade City so we can stay with obviously the tradition of the reorganization and any and then your reswearing ends um be done in in date city. What we do with that?

Ron Oakley

Yeah.

Jack Mariano

Okay.

Ron Oakley

I definitely am.

Jack Mariano

Commissioner Starkey.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Well, I guess you weren't.

Kathryn Starkey

Yeah, of course you are. You're not gonna be there. I thought it was gonna be refreshing that we didn't have to do it in Dade City and we could um be where the majority of the commissioners live over on the west side. So Um I'm game for keeping it right there on the west wall.

Jack Mariano

Well again w we do have a little bit of tradition that being the county seat for the county. Um I have I have three here that takes over. I have yeah, I y you I'm sorry, you lost though. There's four of us here that want to do it.

Kathryn Starkey

A four, Jack. Come on.

Jack Mariano

Tradition, county seat. They're writing you down and you're not here.

That would be like the president of the United States being sworn in in, you know, uh I don't know, California.

Kathryn Starkey

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Jack Mariano

Right.

Kathryn Starkey

Oh god.

Jack Mariano

He's always it's always in the it's always at yes, it's always in the s the capital which is Washington D C

Kathryn Starkey

Are

Jack Mariano

we good? We're good. All right. All right. But thank you, Commissioner Starkey, for jumping on board.

But what we're gonna do, hey, just so you know, what we're gonna do is we're gonna go ahead and change the other date city meeting in December to New Puritie, just so you know. I should have mentioned that.

Jack Mariano

Okay.

Jack Mariano

Yeah, so you'll you'll you'll be added you'll we'll add a meeting on the docket for New Port Richey. So you're not losing out, right? Is that what you said, Mr. Biles?

County Administrator

Yes sir. So what I'm hearing is November seventeenth in Dade City, December eighth in Newport Ritchie.

Jack Mariano

Yeah. So that's what we'll do because New Port December eighth was supposed to be in Dade City. We're gonna go ahead and switch it over here to New Port Richey.

Jack Mariano

Can also win that.

Jack Mariano

Yeah, how about that? Even even swap. Okay.

Kathryn Starkey

Okay, I I suppose that's probably good for public hearing because if we're canceling the one and the east side the west side then we need to get them on the schedule.

Jack Mariano

Yes, ma'am. Right. Okay. I always have a solution.
