What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

I have uh reappoint Dr. Andrew Jonathan. Uh Michael. Aliga to the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board for District One. So that's a motion. I need a second.

Mike Moore

Second.

Ron OakleyChair

I got a second. All those in favor say aye. Aye. Motion passed. Uh next uh motion is to uh reappoint Mark Phillman and Andrew Pittman to the at-large committee members on the VOPH Planning and Policy Committee. Their terms have have expired and need needs to be done today with the board. So I that is a motion. I need a second.

Nectarios Pittos

Second.

Ron OakleyChair

A second, a motion a second. All those in favor say aye.

Unidentified speaker

Aye. Aye.

Ron OakleyChair

Motion passed. Okay. The last thing I have is uh we talked about overpass and all the construction going on there. Uh thank you. I don't know if the road's closed right now, but February first was the date I was given that the road would be closed, uh the by the overpass would be closed for that construction.

County Administrator

So is

Ron OakleyChair

that still

County Administrator

I'll need to verify that. I think that's one of the dates I but the

Ron OakleyChair

February first is what I

County Administrator

suppose

Ron OakleyChair

the DOT said they were gonna get out and let everybody know

County Administrator

also. And that's supposed to accelerate construction by six to nine months. Yeah. So and I Can I have an alibi?

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Okay. Mr. Chairman M Commissioner Fitzpatrick also ha you reminded her that she's got an appointment she needs to make.

Christina Fitzpatrick

Thank you. I would like to appoint Kayla Cooney to the Library Advisory Board.

Ron OakleyChair

Thank you. Get a motion and a second. All those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Motion passed. Thank you. Thank

Unidentified speaker

you. And Mr.

County Administrator

Chairman Mari the clerk reminded me of something. The supplemental cares appropriation that the Congress and the President signed right around the Christmas holidays. included another allocation for specifically for rental and mortgage assistance that will be direct distributed to counties. We applied for that. Uh we've not received the money yet, but you will see an agenda item on the next board meeting to accept that. We're estimating that's gonna be in the range of about fifteen million dollars.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

One five or five up.

County Administrator

One five. Uh but we're not sure because the numbers haven't been worked out yet and Treasury hadn't posted the actual numbers for each jurisdiction. So we've applied for that. You'll see that in front of you. It's specific to rental and mortgage, a little more strings attached than in our program, but we're working through that to get that set back up to do that. And as the clerk mentioned, our team of the year was a CARES team. Uh Mr. Todd Kirsey, who's on the line today, was the employee of the year, a team member of the year, and then Tambri Lane, who

that you're all familiar with, was the leader of the year. So that's all I had. Sorry. Congratulations. Meeting with a good note, one of the good notes. Thank you.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Okay. One comment on that cure's money. Uh so I the uh government did extend the deadline for um us to spend the money. So you know we were in this rush to just in case for December 31st, but they did give us an extension to December 31st of 2021, correct?

County Administrator

That is correct. Um you know unfortunately we got that extension three days before we were supposed to be a hundred percent executed and so we were a hundred percent executed. Our nonprofits that didn't spend all their money have we've extended the date now so they can continue to work on those issues into the new year. But the cares money was expense because we were supposed to be

Unidentified speaker

Yeah.

County Administrator

A hundred percent expensed on the thirtieth of December. And when you extend my deadline two days before that, well I'm Sorry, we're already gonna be expensive that point.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Yeah, that was another um unfortunate rollout.

Mike Moore

Mr. Chairman, are you Mr. Are you gonna bring up the letter that um Senator Pasano sent to us?

Ron OakleyChair

Uh I've asked for um For a comment from the attorney's office based on that.

Mike Moore

To get

Ron OakleyChair

that answer back before I move forward.

Mike Moore

Okay. Yeah. Okay. I just I know we were all copy on letters. I didn't know if it was coming up today. Yeah.
