What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Things are going great in Pasco County and we certainly appreciate everything that y'all do. So I know it's not easy at times, but a lot of things are not easy, but when you get to the end, uh we're gonna be a better county, a better Mayor County for for all of us. So thank you. That we're adjourned.

Six one one. Hi, I'm Kurt Browning, Pasco County Superintendent of Schools. I lead the charge to provide a world-class education for all students and to

In college, career, and life. However, achieving this success can be difficult for the student who has been removed from their home for their own protection and placed in foster care or another out-of-home placement. Alarmingly, right here in Pasco County, there are almost 1,000 abused and neglected children in the child welfare system. Children in foster care often experience multiple placements and consequently may attend several different Schools in one school year, making it difficult for them to achieve academic success. What can you do? You can help by becoming a

Guardian Ad Lightum volunteer. Children who have a Guardian Ad Lightum do better in school and are more likely to find a safe, permanent home sooner. To learn how you can help, call 727-834-3493 or visit HeroToachild.org. Our children and their success matter to me. I am for the child. Are you?

Quality of customer service has been outstanding.

Unidentified speakerVoice E

Beyond satisfied. Absolutely beyond satisfied.

Unidentified speakerVoice D

It's a completely different mindset. It's a completely different approach. The county's been taking extra care in working together with us and a team approach.

Unidentified speakerVoice F

I think that the Pasco County has made strides in development of procedures and programs to where we have a relationship built with them. So when I do call Uh we have somebody that we know each other by name and we have an opportunity to get in front of our problem.

Unidentified speakerVoice G

So important that the customer service within any organization evolves with its customers and I think Pasco County is doing a great job of that.

Unidentified speakerVoice B

The other thing I've seen is that there's more interaction between the county staff and the community at large.

Unidentified speakerVoice F

We have an opportunity to talk with people because we go to the vertical codes and the horizontal codes meeting.

Unidentified speakerVoice H

Looking at something and saying yes I can help you and I understand what you want to do and and I'm gonna help you do it. That makes all the difference in the world.

Unidentified speakerVoice E

Listen in the past five years the changes that have come to the permitting department, the planning department, the zoning department are complex completely different. Just a breath of fresh air. It's nice to walk in and see a smiling face and shake hands with someone and and then when you make a phone call and they're picking up the phone and you're talking to someone and they're finding you answers and they're getting you the answers that you want and you need, it's just, it's it's a great feeling.

Unidentified speakerVoice B

All commissioners, all five commissioners I know very well, and they all have focused very hard on customer service.

Unidentified speakerVoice I

The attitude is is that we are your customers, and you need to be treated like a customer. And that's exactly what Don Rosenthal says every time I hear him speak.

Unidentified speakerVoice B

I think Pasco has a great future.

Unidentified speakerVoice G

Future of Pasco County

Unidentified speakerVoice I

is so bright. It's in a perfect location. It's right where you want to be.

Unidentified speakerVoice D

It's exciting to help build the communities that we live and work in.

Unidentified speakerVoice H

I think that Pasco County is gonna lead the region.

Pat Gasway

I think one of the best decisions we've ever made is to better accommodate what we do for our clients in Pasco County. And the County's staff has been the keystone for that success.
