Call to order, roll call, pledge and procedures

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

The source document

Published agenda

The county’s agenda for Planning Commission, Nov 29, 2018

The published PDF. Its text could not be extracted — it is an image-only scan — so nothing in it is searchable here, but it reads normally.

Approved minutes

The county’s minutes for Planning Commission, Nov 29, 2018

The published PDF, as served by the county. This item is one entry in it.

What was said

Transcript

Machine transcription of 4m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 80% of 30 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.

All right, welcome everybody. I'd like to call the meeting to order if we will stand for a moment of silence and then the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pledge related to the United States of America and to the Republic of the State. One nation under individual liberty and justice laws of the world.

Mm. Okay, you want to have the roll call?

At this time for anyone who plans to give uh testimony today, if you will stand, raise your right hand, be sworn.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Do you swear or affirm the testimony you're about to give is the truth so healthy bad?

Charles Grey

I think I

All right, thank you. You don't want to read the proof of publication?

The items were published in the Santa Bay Times on November 2, 2018, November 9, 2018, November 16, 2018, and November 17, 2018.

Charles Grey

Okay. Thank you.

So before we go any further, do we have any public comments, something that is not on the agenda today?

I see no one. All right.

So uh for those of you who haven't been here before I'll go through the uh procedures that we follow. Um I'd just like to welcome everybody today. Um The Planning Commission is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. We meet twice a month. The Planning Commission serves as a local planning agency. The Planning Commission holds public hearing and transmits to the Board of County Commissioners recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments. Land Development Code amendments. rezoning and conditional

use requests. The Planning Commission is the final decision making body for special exceptions, certain appeals, variance requests,

Thank you, right.

Jim Host

Mm-hmm.

Charles Grey

However, the final decisions may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. If anyone is in opposition to any comprehensive plan amendment, land development code amendment, rezoning conditional use or any item where the Planning Commission transmits a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. It's important for you to attend the appropriate Board of County Commissioners.

Okay. So uh

We have um

The way we set set it up is we have a um A consent agenda and on that agenda are items Where we have not received any objections from the staff or uh the public. Those items will be uh gone through on a one by one basis. If you see something on on consent that you wish to have uh discussed today, raise your hand. We'll remove it from consent for further discussion.

And we also have uh Continuances. Um The it's our tradition if a recu uh continuance is requested by the applicant or the um or the staff to grant those continuances unless there are extenuating circumstances. And uh So Are there any questions at this time?

Okay.

So are you ready?

Unidentified speakerVoice B

Ready.
