46:11All right. I'm gonna go ahead and read your resolution, resolution number twenty-zero four zero. A resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, commending Sam Scarborough for over 33 years of dedicated service to the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners and congratulating him on his retirement. Whereas in 1986, Sam Scarborough began his career with Pasco County as a Carpenter 2 with facilities management. In 1995, Sam transferred to Parks and Recreation

46:42as a Carpenter 2. In nineteen ninety eight, he briefly left the county to work with his church and retired in two thousand as a park operator too at Withlacoochie River Park. Eventually he became a Park Ranger and in 2007 he became a Park Site Supervisor One. And as an expert carpenter, Sam constructed several structures that are still in use today, including a replica church and several cabins at Westlacuche River Park. Sam initiated a project

47:12to turn the existing trading post at Withlikuchi River Park into a small cabin. The new cabin sleeps for and has air conditioning, increasing the rental possibilities during the hot summer months. The cabin is an asset to the park and is frequently reserved by our park patrons. And RAS, Sam also constructed a cabin to resemble an 1840s camp to enhance the Mountain man Rendevonists. I can't even rendezvous. Rendezvous. I guess I haven't

He built in Arbor and Dance Circle, which was used to host the Mother's Day in October Powell, as well as the Flintnappin and the Silverhawk flute circle. These are words I haven't read together before. Sam would often be in character as a mountain man and flintnapper, enhancing each event's authenticity. And res Sam was instrumental in creating an RV campground at Witlacuche River Park. With his persistence, a pencil, a compass, and

48:12a piece of paper, he designed the campground and installed all the utilities. This campground, the first in our parks department, Is a huge asset to our park system and steadily maintains approximately 850 reservations per year. Whereas Sam has been a tremendous asset to the recreational initiatives in East Pasco by allowing his team to work closely on various recreational programs, camps, events, and parades. Sam helped build a float for the Founders' Day Parade in Zephyrhills. Sam also

48:43was also responsible for starting the highly successful kids' freshwater fishing camps and assisting with the Tampa Bay Renaissance Festival. Which was ranked as the number one festival in the Tampa Bay area in 2021. NRAS Sam takes pride in his work, his park, and his team. He has served as a positive role model, providing countless hours of mentoring and coaching. Sam exemplifies the county's core values of respect, integrity, innovation, and service excellence. Now, therefore,

49:13be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners. Pasco County, Florida, in regular session, duly assembled, that said board and all its members of the Parks and Recreation and Natural Resources Department hereby expresses deepest appreciation to Sam Scarborough for over 33 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Pasco County and wish him the best in his retirement. And everything you just mentioned and the resolution, I I did none of that alone. It was all with the team. Well,

50:33we have one of the greatest teams I ever worked for in my life. with parks, recreation and natural resources. And that goes from the top to the bottom, you know, 'cause we we don't accomplish anything. Without everyone being on board. And um I I it's just been a tremendous career. I I Retired on the twenty sixth of November and I I've been sad ever since. It's been hard every morning to wake up and think, What am I gonna do today? Uh m I have a project I was

51:03doing here at this park or over at that park. I wonder how Yeah, things are going at Starkey Park. I wonder how things are every day it's just it's in my DNA and it's it's hard to let go of. But um I'm trying my hardest and uh I I know I'm I I I'm I'm retired. Thank you all very, very much. And but I want to thank my team the most.
