R51 industrial pretreatment ordinance introduction

1:17:22Hi, good Mr Good morning, Mr. Chairman Members of the Board. Justin Ressler, Solid Waste Director. R fifty one is an introduction of a proposed ordinance amending the Pasco County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 110, Article 4. County Sewer System, Division two, Industrial Pre Treatment Standard, Sections. 110-151 definitions section 110-153. Discharge standards in section 110-154 treatment pre-treatment of wastewater. There's no funding required. So just to give a little of background, Pasco

1:17:52County serves as the regulatory authority on behalf of the state and federal government for a commercial discharge into in uh our wastewater system. There was recent legislation that was promulgated at the federal level that we are required to incorporate by reference into our local ordinance. So that's what we're presenting to you for introduction today. And the thing I'd really like to highlight is it's no different than what we've already been regulating. This is just incorporating those by reference. I reference into the ordinance, relates to disposal of pharmaceuticals into the wastewater system and disposal

1:18:22of dental amalgam from old fillings. And really at a high level, the industry should not be out there. flushing those things down into into the water system. They should be contracting with a probable disposal authority to do that. Um so with that Again, really no impacts to our inspections, no change, just incorporating those by reference into the ordinance. Um staff recommendation is to accept the proposed amendment to Pasco County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 110, Article 4, Division Two, Industrial Pre-treatment

1:18:53standards. Sections one ten, death one fifty one. One ten dash one fifty three and one ten Dash one fifty four and direct the Saw Waste Department to advertise the proposed revisions for the public hearing before the Board of County Commissioners on December fifth. at the West Pasco Government Center. or as soon thereafter may be heard.
