I'll go ahead and read your resolution. Resolution number 24-031, a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, commending Field Inspector J Jeremy Delaire for his his heroic actions and dedication to the community. Whereas Pasco County field inspector Jeremy Delaire has demonstrated exceptional dedication to his profession and the community. And whereas on October 10th, 2023, while stopped at a local Walgreens, field inspector Jeremy Delaire noticed

a deep gasping noise coming from a bathroom stall and knew this was someone gasping for air and unable to breathe. Jeremy immediately jumped into action to provide life-saving care to an individual experiencing a drug overdose and a weak pulse. Enras Jeremy alerted the pharmacist, who was then able to administer two doses of Narcan while Jeremy began chest compressions on the individual. NRAS, the combination of the Narcan and chest compressions, were able to successfully resuscitate the patient prior to the arrival

of Pasco County pharmaceutical. Fire rescue. Who were then able to stabilize the patient for transportation to the hospital. ANRAS, these actions not only saved the life of a community member, but also served as a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and readiness to help of field inspector Jeremy Delaire. ANRAS, Jeremy has recently learned how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation at a CPR class hotel. By Pasco County, an example of how Pasco County offers life-changing

classes through Pasco U. And Raz at a dedication, I'm sorry, at a recognition ceremony, Jeremy was awarded a point of light award, which is given to recognize humanitarians that occur outside of a team member's normal work duty. And RARAS Field Inspector Jeremy Delaire's action show that The Pasco County Minimum Standards Team is compassionate about the wellness and safety of others and serves as a reminder of the critical role that public service employees play in

our communities every day. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, that said board hereby recognizes Field Inspector Jeremy Delaire for his heroic actions and dedication to the community. Done and resolved in regular sessions. with a quorum present and voting this fifth day of December 2023.

To take the county up on the offer to cross train just goes to show you never know when. And all of us in here are always on call, whether a quick phone call to make or We took a couple hours worth of training 'cause you never know when for whatever reason. So thank you for going that extra mile and taking advantage of the of the course and you know, look, you you saved somebody's life. So uh thank you for your diligence. Thank you to our service to our county and our citizens and uh Merry Christmas.

And I I would echo those sentiments and um I'm just uh really grateful that we have employees like you who go the extra mile and and frankly the the role that you play besides that is a tough one too. So um I appreciate all that you do and I'm honored to honor you today.

Thank you. I'd just like to say the same. M must be an awesome feeling to do that for someone, save their life. Um it's gonna carry you well for life for a for a long time, but thank you for taking the extra step to take the class and then the great action. So thank you.

Yes, please. So I uh um I just wanna say, you know, when you're in that moment, it's scary and And to have a cool mind about you, to go and seek the pharmacist so they can get the Narcan to be administered. I think that is very heroic. And then to continue to help with life-saving efforts and to do the CPR, that's just amazing. So just from another citizen to another. citizen. I just wanna thank you for for just stepping

in and and uh overcoming that fear in that moment and doing it. Thank you.
