Call to order, moment of silence, pledge of allegiance

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Good afternoon. I'd like to call to order the Planning Commission meeting of March 4th, March 5th. I'd like to remind everyone present, please silence your cell phones if you have not already done so. And we'll uh start just like we always do with a moment of silence and the pledge of allegiance. Please rise.

Pledge allegiance to the flag. The United States of America is a republic for which it stands. My

nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice of the world.

Wanna do roll call?

Publication.

Okay. Um I don't think there's any minutes to approve. Um the Planning Commission is appointed by the County Commission and we meet twice monthly. We serve as a local planning agency and we hold public hearings and transmit to the Board of County Commissioners recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments, land development code amendments, rezoning, and conditional use requests. The Planning Commission is the final decision-making body for special exceptions, certain appeals, variance

requests, and certain alternative standard requests. However, final decision. may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners at the appropriate meeting. If anyone is in opposition to a comprehensive plan amendment, land development code amendment, rezoning, conditional use, or any item where the Planning Commission transmits recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, it is important that you attend the appropriate meeting. Board of County Commissioners meeting. For those who are not familiar with the procedures, we have three

parts of the agenda. The first part is continuances, which I do not believe we have any of today. Yeah. Uh those are items uh it's customary that we approve those requests uh for continuances. It's where the applicant or staff because of c extenuating circumstances there's They um request that the item be continued to the next meeting. Um the next item is the consent agenda. These are items where we have received no letters of objection from the public or from the staff and will

be will are placed on the consent agenda and will be read item by item. If you wish for an item to be pulled from the consent agenda, please raise your hand with that item and it will be pulled for discussion. Absent any objecti objections, those items will remain on the consent agenda and be voted on at one time. The last part of the agenda is the regular items. And those items are not placed on the consent or approved continuance will be placed on the regular agenda and will be discussed one at a time. Applicants

have three minutes to make their presentation and objectors have three minutes to state their concerns. Following the presentation of objections, the applicant will have five minutes to respond. If there has been a request for a longer time, which I don't think we have any of, at least twenty hours before the meeting, such extra time may be granted for this request. Um I think I already reminded you to silence your cell phones. Um one thing I know I didn't do was um if you plan to give testimony today or speak on any item on the agenda, please

stand and raise your right hand and be sworn.
