Call to order, pledge, roll call

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

The county’s agenda for Planning Commission, Oct 5, 2023

The published PDF. Its text could not be extracted — it is an image-only scan — so nothing in it is searchable here, but it reads normally.

Okay, since we have no minutes to approve, um

but first of all let me just tell you about the planning commission. We're appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and we meet twice monthly. We serve as a local planning agency and we hold public hearings and transmit to the Board of County Commissioners recommendations on commercial on comprehensive plan amendments, land development code amendments. Amendments, rezoning, and conditional use requests. Planning Commission is the final decision-making body for special exceptions, certain appeals, variance requests, and certain alternative standard requests. However,

final decisions may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. If anyone is in opposition, County Development Code Amendment, rezoning, conditional use, or any item where We transmit a a ref a recommendation to the planning uh to the county commission, it's important for you to attend the appropriate county commission meeting. And for those of you not familiar with the format, we have three sections. We have typically have continuances and and uh it's been our custom to uh allow continuances

if if requested by the applicant or the or the uh staff uh on any item and we I think we have a few of 'em today. And we have consent items um m usually and uh Those are items that we have not heard any objection on.

We'll go through those one at a time. If there's anything on consent that you'd like to have heard, as I go through, just raise your hand and we'll have it polled for discussion. And then we have regular items. Those are the items that will be fully vetted today and everybody will have a chance to get up and speak and ask their questions and get their answers. And uh so those are the regular items. Applicants will have uh three minutes to make their presentation and the uh requestoners will have uh three minutes

to stand up and ask their questions or state their objections. And uh following the presentation The applicants will have five minutes then to get up and respond and respond to the questions that were raised uh by the people in the audience. If there's been a request at least twenty-four hours prior to this meeting in writing for additional time, uh it may have been granted and I think we had one. Is that right, Denise?

Denise

You granted three for P five, P six and A P el ten sorry, eleven.
