Commissioner Mariano report on Elks and recovery meetings

1:38:28Uh I'd like to show those pictures of the elks if I could, and then just one quick thing about the disaster recovery meetings we are coming up.

1:38:44That's the steps to recovery and the Elks members that were there for the uh for the banquet. Nice. All the just the veterans themselves. ROTC was there, Junior R O T C did a great job. I get to speak a little bit about the great things we're doing here. Then about

1:39:02But yeah, they were very, very pleased, very happy. It just it was just great to see the camaraderie of the whole group.

1:39:12And if you could let's put up the uh disaster recovery housing program meetings. Um and I think it's good to see it because if people can pull on online to see the picture, they'll know the meetings. These meetings, uh I think we all all met now with that program. I think I've got a

1:39:27Yeah, so that I think they're doing a phenomenal job. The first meeting comes up November eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and the twenty second, twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth. I'm gonna be able to hit, I think, the first four of them. I won't be able to hit the other two, but I think everybody has an opportunity here to hit one meeting or another. The program as as they get started is going to be able to help some some things a little bit quicker, but March is like when the m most going. But the eligible activities for the individual housing for reimbursement of repair expenses for homeowners, repair

1:39:57construction of elevation of homes, demolition and clearance of blighted structures, the voluntary buyout location, all the requirements tied back to Hurricane Adalia, Helena Milton, uh And household income at eighty percent or below the area uh median income is gonna be critical and those are gonna be taken care of first. And I think it's important that we all know that we need to make sure that we get this not only approved and funded, but we don't have any clawbacks later on because we didn't hit that seventy percent threshold. So I'm comfortable with staff making

1:40:27sure we get to those numbers, figure out how we gotta get there before we actually have the other people With higher incomes that are gonna get some help too.

1:40:35And I'm I'm grateful for staff for swapping the November 18th with the November 22nd because that's the only meeting I can attend, and I wanted to be sure because the 19th I have uh NACO, uh FAC, and I have my husband's charity event so uh in Tampa. Um so I I can only go to one um and I plan to be there on

1:40:55the 18th. I'm

1:40:56to go to the fact, but I'm going
