Pasco County Library Cooperative strategic plan approval

1:56:44Good morning. I'll go quickly. I'm Nancy Fredericks with Pasco Libraries. I'm here to seek your approval for our strategic plan for the Pasco County Library Cooperative, which includes our eight branches and the Zephyrhills Library. Our plan does align directly with the county strategic plan. It's with goal number 2.3, as Dr. Ballis presented earlier. The Florida Division of Library and Information Services requires

1:57:14the library to present and get approval for our strategic plan in order to receive state aid to public libraries. That's why I'm here today. We did assess the community through focus groups, we met with business leaders, we had surveys with our team, and we came up with three basic areas of focus. And as I said, they do align with goal 2.3, and they are community, education, and culture. We

1:57:45have a brief two-minute video. for you um of our team members explaining a little bit more what that means. Um and you have the documents in front of you so I don't need to review them. If you um once we watch the video, if you want to approved then we're all set. Thank you.

1:58:08Every three years, Pasco County Libraries develops a strategic plan to map out the direction of the library system. We work closely with stakeholders and residents in the community. listening to their concerns and wishes. As the county grows, needs change, and we are committed to providing you with a solid, robust library system that exceeds your expectations. As part of that growth, we are remodeling our existing libraries and building new ones. We are expanding our services and actively partnering with other county

1:58:38departments and organizations to bring you a library system you can be proud of. We've divided the strategic plan into three areas of focus. Community. education and culture. Each is equally important and speak to specific points that our public listening sessions revealed.

1:58:55By fostering and curating a sense of community, Pasco County Libraries addresses one of its chief missions. It's our goal to expand what we offer to county residents, visitors, and business owners, and to attract new users. As part of this effort, we will increase outreach opportunities for community members and organizations to become involved with the library. Developing partnerships with community groups, civic organizations, nonprofits, chambers,

1:59:26and government agencies enhances our ability to reach more people where they live, work, and play.

1:59:33Education is a core mission for libraries everywhere, and we are committed to offering learning opportunities for all Pasco County residents. We will provide access to an extensive collection of resources, which support the diverse needs and interests of our citizens. In addition, we offer resources and programming to support lifelong learning, plus skill and knowledge development across multiple literacies.

2:00:00We at Pasco County Library see ourselves as not only curators of culture, but creators of it as well. Culture has a direct impact on the quality of life in Pasco County and the Greater Tampa Bay Area. We have pledged to provide programming and activities that support self-expression, innovation, and community-based well-being. We will foster culture within Pasco County by offering a wide range of cultural programs at all the branches. libraries and outreach locations.
