Continued commissioner reports and announcements

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Ron OakleyChair

That's the end of that, but we'll go back to old business. Um Mr. Mari Allen and have uh Adam

Jack Mariano

Mueller bring up. Yes, sir. Just like to touch to um I want to thank uh Mike Carbello's team, Tower Drive. I've been waiting for inlets and pipes is being constructed as we speak and that's gonna take a major bit of stress right across uh US nineteen and that uh little corridor going into Single Cove. Um and this weekend is the beach Charity festival and auction at Sunwest Park. This benefits our seniors, benefits CARES. Uh there's gonna be live bands, fireworks, foods, crafts and

draft. It starts Saturday at ten AM, October sixteenth to dusk, and then Sunday, October seventeenth, from ten to five. All the money's gonna go to the CARES. Okay. Thank you.

Ron OakleyChair

All right. Thank you. Uh the only thing I have I want to remind everybody that uh on October 15th through this we call October 17th. The southbound lanes on I-75 will be closed. From the fifteenth through the sixteenth. Going to going to the s to the south and then on the s October sixteenth and October seventeenth the lanes going

north will be closed. So uh suggest you don't try to travel the interstate right in between fifty two and fifty four.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

To clarify though, that's from nine PM to nine.

Ron OakleyChair

Yeah, nine PM to Nine what is it? Nine eighty. Yeah. So But those would be closed so they're actually moving forward with the overpass intersection and placing some of those beams and all across the interstate during that time. Mr. Chairman

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Mariano. Um well I have two things. Um one is um I I was asking my husband uh where the name came for Tower Road. And now that you say there's a Tower Drive Yeah. Um he said that that is an old name in ta Um because there were some towers on it that are I don't think no longer there. So I kinda wanna start stop referring to Tower Road as Tower Road and

let's call it the Rake the Rangeland, which is the road that it is now that goes through Starkey. a quit calling the tower and especially if there's a tower road. So I want to bring that up for our discussion. And also um I had lunch with the chair of the school board today and they um would like to have the census data. I had no idea we never sent them the census data. And apparently um yeah, so th they called and tried to get it from the state. The state says they send it to the county. And um

And in t and and so the county has to send it to the school district. So they have not seen what it looks like. Um also with uh in regards to the school board member number four, um they're gonna take once they get the numbers, they're gonna take a look and see if they want to make a recommendation that we modify our map. to drop down in Aristida to Panicum. Take south. On you know, on that side of the street. fifty ounces

or something. But it makes the maps the same. Okay. And I You know it. I'm okay. not optimum to have uh this two commissioners in one neighborhood um because that would be commission district four with some of the houses. But if if there's some compelling reason that that it's easier in in any process to have same maps, that's a very easy little fix.

Jack Mariano

It takes a heartburn away and let it go.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Yeah, so um so anyway, once they get the data, they're gonna look at it and give us recommendations. before our next meeting. Yeah.

County Administrator

Mr. Miles. So to be clear, we downloaded that data from the US Census Bureau's public data site.

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Oh they thought that you got it from the

County Administrator

public the same day we downloaded it. So

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

they may not know that.

County Administrator

We are gonna ship them our share our shape files. The GIS to GIS integration we'll we'll give 'em back. Okay. With our lines as as y'all said earlier and it So

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

Okay. Alright. But anyway I think that would either way, what whatever works does.

Ron OakleyChair

Anything else?

Kathryn StarkeyVice Chair

I have some but I can't remember what it was. So

Ron OakleyChair

Oh good.
