Trail fence Bahama Breeze and Mitchell project updates
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.
The source document
The county’s agenda for Board of County Commissioners, Oct 17, 2017
The published PDF. Its text could not be extracted, because it is an image-only scan, so nothing in it is searchable here. It still reads normally.
The county’s minutes for Board of County Commissioners, Oct 17, 2017
The published PDF, as served by the county. This item is one entry in it.
What was said
Machine transcription of 1m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 100% of 10 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.
While they're setting up, I'll just let you know I just got um word from Sam that uh this the fence at the end end of the Penellas Trail that can is gonna connect with the Starkey Trail has been cut down. So Duke gave us permission last week to cut that force on the fence. Right. Our residents in Trinity were throwing their bikes over and climbing over two fences to get to the trail. So um I am really that's a really big step. So
since we're talking, just can I insert one total non sequitur good news piece. We got a contact this afternoon from the Bahama Breeze Company, who you all had heard about a month a month or so ago. You're concerned about their work schedule. Uh I
was
just informed this afternoon that largely due to our expression of the board's interest in the project. Uh they have reapplied uh now uh for the project and while that's not a guarantee that they're gonna go forward, it's gonna put us in a position where we can go forward quickly rather than a year and a half later, which is what they've been talking about. Only if they come in on the West Shire.
So it's it's not a guarantee, but it's it's it's because of your efforts and comments at that meeting, we were able to get them interested to restage the project. to maybe beat out the Broward County County uh Oh I didn't know we were in contest. Where there whatever it takes. There's a couple of different news sites and they only do one at a time. So whoever gets to go first.
Okay, more good news. You know uh Mitt Mitchell project got their Army Corps Punk. Oh good three years. Three years later. All
right,
