What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

Ron OakleyChair

Okay. We'll step back into public comment for this one person that uh we didn't hear earlier.

Ron OakleyChair

Please state your name and address for the record and then you may proceed.

Nancy Gray

Yeah. Can you hear me? Yes.

Thank you. This is Nancy Gray. I live at [address removed]. Good morning and thank you for your time. Coming before you to request help with Dear Lake, I sent you an email last week and a map yesterday. I'm sure you understand that Deer Lake used to be connected to other lakes through underwater caves. This lake is clogged up and I can only assume others are also. Neighbors on grave have had flooding

into their homes, One continues to deal with mould from last year, And due to the flooding, we lose up to half of our backyards for six months at a time. There's only four residents that are affected. All the big bucks around the lake are Wells Fargo, Chiropractor, and commercial land that's for sale. Writing his solution dates back to Mike Wells when he was a commissioner. We've had no resolution except for pumping the lake one time for twenty four hours, and redirecting water running

off ridge to Grave to Adonis, only to flood Kentley. Ditches and swales were not the answer. They spoke of a retaining wall or redirecting the water to the stormwater system. It hasn't been done. Reme Aquatics contracts with Florida, cleans out Turnpike Waterways. They can do the same in this lake and more. They dredge all the muck out, they pull the vegetation, and it can be treated with a pre and probiotic and create a

healthy, live lake again. We are respectfully requesting that you take the necessary action and have the work done, clean out the lake before the rain starts. I've been requesting this since 2016. If this project is going to fall on us, the contaminated road material, the driveway, the roof runoff water into the lake has to stop. It's a lake. If we're expected to pull our own permit, Clean out the mess that we didn't

create and maintain the lake that we never knew was ours. We need to own it and not pay property taxes on it. The fact is we didn't cause a Get it cleaned up. The County Attorney's Office sent Swift Mud and myself an email yesterday stating Pasco County does not own the lake. It's simply tagged as Pasco County facilities, so it will not be assessed for taxes. It might be considered to be sovereign submerged land. I think that means it belongs

to Florida. I spoke with John at Swift Mud this morning. We don't own it. We cannot get a permit. Someone has to take responsibility. County has allowed overflow from ridge into the lake. Mosquito control has sprayed. They will send someone out to look at the lake, and the businesses also have to share in this. But their buildings were approved by Pasco County. To conclude we as homeowners just want our property to use,

to enjoy, and not be fluttered out anymore. Please ask me all the questions you need to. I'll do my best to answer it or I'll get you the answer. But please make a decision now that we'll clean out the lake. Bloody.

Please questions.

Ron OakleyChair

Thank you for your coming yesterday. Okay.

No one else?

Ron OakleyChair

No, um there was one person on now but was not on during public comment is what I'm being told. Um it was after public comment was closed.

Ron OakleyChair

Oh okay. Were they signed up for?

Ron OakleyChair

They were previously signed up.

Ron OakleyChair

Um

We allow another one to speak. I mean that's at the board's discretion. If she's um she or he is available to speak now, we'll allow 'em to speak.

Ron OakleyChair

Is that she's still online?

Ron OakleyChair

Okay.

Ron OakleyChair

That's me.

Ron OakleyChair

Name and address works.

Ron OakleyChair

Ms. Honeywell, go ahead and state your name and address

Sharon Honeywell Johnson

Ron OakleyChair

Sharon Honeywell Johnson

Oh, it is. I'm sorry. My name is Sharon Honeywell Johnson. I live at [address removed]. And I'm just talking about the Meadowbrook subdivision that was um talked about previously that we still oppose the um Plan use adoption.

Yeah. That's really it. It's the same thing that Luke and Todd also spoke about. Thank you.
