So I wanted to show you this Florida Community Contribution Tax Credit Program. This was sent to me by some of the folks at uh Habitat. Um this program based on Florida statutes provides a financial incentive of up to 100 percent. to encourage Florida businesses to make a donation towards community development and housing projects for low-income persons. The program is based on Florida statute, section 212.08. PREN five, Q, and
some other ones. Um and it says who is eligible? Any corporation paying Florida corporate income tax or insurance premium tax or a business that collects and remits sales tax to the state of Florida? It doesn't say and or So um
So I'm not sure what that means.
So a qualifying company would need to complete a minimum of two hundred volunteer hours on a habitat build. This provides a team building experience like no other. And um At the completion of the home, Habitat completes an application on behalf of the organization and submits that application to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, which I think is Department of Commerce. Department of Commerce Department of Commerce Commerce. Um, along with the paperwork, and after the paperwork is submitted, the qualifying
businesses will receive a tax refund or credit for the entire amount. So Um I'd love for us to be uh a part of this and our our business community to know about this. That's another way to help our citizens, um, like Commissioner Weightman says, become homeowners.
