to be about transportation of the neighborhood. Good morning, Commissioner. Bramford Atumua, Assistant County Administrator for the Public Infrastructure Branch. I'm pleased to have you confirm, Madam Martin. As our Transportation Engineering Director. People purpose performance. Performance money has a lack. for completing Capta improving projects. On time, he's been doing this for 30

years. And how does he do that? He understands that the key step is to plan accordingly, right from the beginning. Get all the expats to the table. Identify all the risks. and build a watertight schedule. So we don't come back and change this, keep changing the schedule. He also understands that within the department People leave and go, we do have vacancies. So when we are budgeting for capital projects, we budget for the sort of projects that we can get done. If

it's design, that is what we budget for. So with the technical skills, 30 years experience. We'll probably say that's it, but they're small. We don't stop there. Right? We are the people of business. You know, organization is what 4,000 plus? Our customers. Uh people. So we want leaders and directors. That enough boy, people have skills. Leaders

Chris Shaver

who

can develop the team, coach the team. Understands that leaders who should be working on the business, but not inside the business, because you have more than 70 or 80% of the team who are working inside of the business. Mari understands teamwork, Mari understands collaboration. Mari understands strategic vision. And um But this is the first time we've done interviews for director. We've been doing this for a year to find this guy, right? Uh

the fourth interview. And This is the first time that almost a group of people who interviewed, there was no disagreement. There were two that said, uh But No disagreement. And um We have one commissioners. And with that, Maddie, do you have some few things to say, my friend? Right.

Marty Moreland

Yeah,

Brentford Adumwa

Marty Moreland

you, Brandford. And uh thank you, Commissioner. I'm honored to be here. Uh I think it's a great. Marty Yes, Marty Moreland. I've been a professional engineer since 1992. Uh I've got a long background of of transportation, engineering, design. Project management, I've been managing groups. Folks and uh I've been a mentor, I've been uh Hi. than every single hat in in the in the field. So My

number one goal is to finish projects, to get projects completed, to get them out the door. That's what we owe to our public. for using their money wisely and and building good projects and good infrastructure. So Uh early on in my career I spent 10 years in Pinellas County for during their first penny for Pinellas. So I had a really good opportunity to see Uh that was really one of the first programs around, I think, that um Very popular program. We had

like 300 projects going on at one time. Uh we developed, we delivered projects, and that that sales tax has been extended a number of times. And it's all about getting. projects done and having the people have confidence in your in your leadership. So Uh that was about 10 years of my career and then actually I've got twenty-six uh other years now in in private practice and consulting. So I understand how to deal with consultants. I understand what it takes to

Make sure they're on task, on on scope, on fee. So

Chris Shaver

Uh I look forward to this opportunity.

The questions. Directions promotions.

Kurt Syrerson

That's the big article of the Gan School. German focusing S.

Whoever to to find a way to operate around the rules and constraints that were indicated the tax money go further. And more adjudiciously. So Uh huh. Thanks

Unidentified speakerVoice B

practically and um Thank you for joining us team. You you don't realize what kind of team you've joined, but In fact that is it's led by royalty and uh probably don't turn it off until we just walk through the They will be questioning you once you get in there and I know you will fulfill the uh place in there that they've been missing and they they need you. I know they need you. Uh we appreciate you coming and being part of that group. Uh

yeah. Rapper's had a good team ever since he's been here and he He has a lot of good things happening in his department because of the way he attacks the issues that we have. So Well mm. Yeah.

Kathryn Starkey

Right from second. Wait, no, I have power so. Yeah, I'm just very interested in your four and a half miles Central Avenue bike head improvement. Okay. So is that in St. Pete?

Marty Moreland

No, that's in downtown Tampa. Downtown Tampa? Yeah, the old Central Avenue, which is one of the original residential corridors in downtown Tampa.

Kathryn Starkey

Okay, I'll wanna know more about that.

Marty Moreland

Sure.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Thank you. Yeah, yeah. Uh, I'd like to welcome you as well. And um I think Bradford and uh Jason in the back there's got a bunch of problems talking about precurrent things going on. So I'm hoping you say that you're gonna get projects done and I know um the success you had done on panels for their penny for panels led to Pasco's success to give the voters a chance to say, you know what, this is something we can use and the bonus said they go through it and Uh re renomination always is one of the easiest things. I think I've wanted to throw us down with the camera diff

on. So we'll look forward to working with you on the other things, Mike Ramelo should be

Appreciate it. We have a motion, second. All in favor say aye.
