citizens comment on new plan, contracts, license plate readers
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

The meetings Three years ago when we started this project. Uh yours so your citizens could actually participate were well intended. And the number one or two things they came up with was they wanted more open space and they wanted more land safe, not more density. So what I see in this new plan is that looks like you're adding more densities. And encouraging it.
So this new town quarter That you're doing. Um I think that your citizens need to know about that and whatever else you've got on the plan. I haven't looked much before Northeast Rural. Of course, but um I think everybody in the county will want to know what you're doing. This is so important, it's gonna be their next 2050. Now The planning board has been really thoughtful about running this around
and delving into it. I really appreciate them. And I I know you all can be too. And think about your citizens in this. We would like to have a say. We want to know more about it before it's approved.
And I'm hoping that you will give us a well advertised a time we can attend workshop. Thank y'all.
Peter Sun.
What do I think your slow? Uh eighty one
thirteen wheel kid road. I'm so used to saying that. Uh that's Light of the World Tabernacle. Um But uh You know, I just came I I wanted to thank you, uh Chairman M Commissioner staff. You can just share a little bit this morning about truth. Um truth is so important. Seems like there's a lot of lies going on and I I appreciate you guys standing up for truth. You know, the Bible says in First Timothy three,
fifteen. Yeah. You should know how to behave. Well, we want to know how to behave, right? But here it says that the church of the living God is the pillar and the ground of truth. And you know, the enemy, that's the evil one in his dominion, he comes to lie, to steal, to kill, and to destroy, but Jesus Christ has come that we have life. and life more abundant. What is truth? Well, God's word is true.
Forever settled in the heavenlies. So when we stand on God's word, we know we're standing on truth. See, God's word will never return void. See, Charlie Kirk was a champion of free speech, and Charlie graciously defended the truth of God's word, and he proclaimed boldly the gospel of Jesus Christ. Has anybody heard of our founding father, one of the founding fathers, John J. He was the Chief, first Chief Justice
of the United States of America. John Jay wrote, the Bible is the best of all books, for it is the Word of God and teaches us the way to be happy. How many want to be happy? I wanna be happy. Right. You know, God's Word also says in uh Joshua chapter one, how many want to know how to be prosperous and have great success? I want to know how to be well study and meditate on the Word of God day and night. Then you'll prosper and have great success. You know, when we're
happy in this world and we study God's word and in the next, we prosper and have great success. John J. also continued uh to say, therefore, to read it and to regulate your life, and I would add your county, uh, by its precepts. What precepts? The Word of God. You know, John 8, 31 through 32 said. Then Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him. If you continue in my
word. Then you are my disciples indeed. How many want to be disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be a disciple. I want to follow him. I want to lead others to him. And if you're here today and don't know him and don't know the truth, get with me afterwards and I'll share what I've learned.
You know. I guess that's about all I have. But when the enemy comes and tries to lie and steal and stop the truth, that's exactly what happened to Charles Kirk and that's why they killed him. Jesus dreamt amen. Thank you for your time.
John
Pagriola,
followed by Leonard Loris.
Good morning Commissioner.
My name is John Labriola. I represent the Christian Family Coalition. We're a statewide organization that lobbies normally taught ASCII, but school boards and county commissions like yourself to defend religious freedom and also to uh Protect protecting the healthy dollars of the state of Florida.
It's a Charlie Kirk Day of Remembrance. It's actually when you were in Tal Hadse this year, we we uh lobbied for a bill to do just that throughout the state of Florida. It passed the House, but unfortunately it was uh not allowed to come to the floor for the vote. And so Senate. Um so we've been asking different counties to uh to to declare a day of remembrance for July Berk on October the fourteenth. And a number have done. the Pasco County Commissioner for doing the same. But uh Charlie Burke was very important. As you know, he was assassinated a little over a year ago by
somebody that felt that his words, which basically proclaimed the biblical truth, were very offensive and he called it hate. And uh Specific reason he um why he did it was because he said that men cannot become women and and he felt that that was a hateful expression, which actually is the b the opinion of the vast majority of people and it's as a core with the biblical truth. So we feel that not only was Charlie Burke a very strong voice for freedom to speak the ability to speak on college campuses to youth, but to
proclaim the the faith in Jesus Christ globally, uh which he inspired millions to do across the country, not just the young people and not just in America, but across the world. And we wanted to thank you again for doing this. Actually, there uh there's another thing about your like he was he was a writer and he wrote eight books in his short lifetime. And um one of the things we're asking different counties to do if you could uh is just encourage your libraries to set up a display of his books uh and some of other historical figures uh during the week of
his birthday, and they could if they could just uh Of this book. So because there's been a lot of slander and uh defamation directed toward Charlie Burke, not only before his event, but unfortunately even after his event, and that was one of the reasons that um that the bill was not allowed to come to the floor for a vote is because of the amount of hatred that was uh spewed in his direction, not just from public but also from members of the legislature, unfortunately. And uh I think it's important for people to know what he really stood for. Um and to to read his words in context and the books that he
wrote. So if you would encourage your libraries to s to also have a book to strive of of his aid or however many books that you have in your can your collection, um, to show people what he really stood for. And um thank you again for you know standing up for uh the the important the the the importance of it that Charlie Cook represented for so many people. across your county and across the state of Florida and across the country and the world. Thank
you again.
We're going to.
Land or Lower I live at [address removed].
Okay. Forty-nine years, uh I come on behalf
of the Florida Christian Family Coalition, also somebody here's Tampa Bay. I also uh Jerry High Kikes praying says and uh wants his greetings to you. We were over praying this morning when I was on my way for y'all and usually uh even Mike Bella usually called your name out every Tuesday. Wouldn't be great for y'all.
Come and tell you that Jerry would be here if you could get away. Also, thank you for senior new Christian and allowing the churches to minister to people that have needs. I was on one of the projects with the gentleman with two strokes. And so we were able to get his yard in pretty good shape. And so we thank you for partnering with us on that and uh just thinking that together, I think we can make Pasco County great. I'm here to thank you for standing for righteousness. You know, uh two things that I would ask.
One of them I hope to be done. The other one I think is something that happened that caused our nation. to plunder in the darkness that did. The first one is that Charlie Books, uh Charlie Kirk's books would be out in the library, right, where they were on display to encourage to really know them. And then as I remember Commissioner Weightman saying, he said he wished the ten commandments back there. I would like to see that. There's a conviction of that. There's reality. You know, God came down on that mountain and shook and
he audibly spoke those ten commandments. And you know Deuteronomy eleven twenty one says if our children are taught that
When they rise up in the morning, you all can
on earth. Taking that out of the education system, no fear of God,
good
illness,
knives,
confusion,
everything else. If we could just yet say hey This is a schoolmaster to get to the love of God to Jesus Christ, the Ten Commandments. So when that could be up when people all depth, maybe the fear and the conviction of God be there. And of course Peter talking about said the end of all findings is at
Hagman.
And
in that text in First Peter four he said, If any man speaks, speak to speak oracles of God.
And we said we find ourselves facing again, he said the first thing to do is be sensible. The watching. And above all have on fire love for one another.
It'd be hospitable
without religion. And if any man minister, let me minister. To one another as good stewards of the grace of God.
Let him speak to the Oracle God. Minister of the glory that God gives us in Christ will
be glorified in everything. Because he is glory. Into the Indian Amen in Christ Jesus. Yeah it is. Uh
was quoted about the truth. Paul writing the Timothy Tellsman's two chapter.
But I'll be perilous times, that's terrible now. Said him to be lovers of self, lovers of pleasure, hatefulness, obedience to parents. So I found Eighty high minded Covenant breaks without natural affection. And he said the only way that you get us through is to know Jesus in the Word. God bless you back here.
Yeah.
Can anyone hear from the audience like that was trust the board? For the colours for the time.
Mr. Anthony. I think your last name is
um Pianese. Sorry I didn't pronounce that last name, but you are elevated if you'd like to go ahead and unmute yourself and
begin your comments.
Yep, Anthony Sigini's here, [address removed]. I was gonna speak about C13 being uh unnecessarily opaque, but I think I'm gonna scrap that and move on to More important items. Uh I was looking at C eleven, the one year. The one year renewal of AMSCO. The this contract amount has grown considerably and the original procurement from a few years ago only produced one responsive proposer. Um I think it should be pulled from consent and be reviewed for the increase
current price comparison and why another 9.25 million. In fiscal year twenty eight, renewal should be delegated Administratively as proposed. Uh maybe it's worth requesting proposals again for this contract. Uh the other item I wanted to cover today was the the uh automated license plate reader. First, I wanted to thank this board for its diligence in addressing the ELPR issue in previous sessions. Uh when the sheriff wrote his letter accusing this board of not trusting or supporting law enforcement
and withdrawing from the interlocal agreement, that solved the immediate problem with the cameras, but there's still no county policy preventing the same thing from happening again. So I'd like this board to ask the county attorney to draft an ordinance covering county property, right of way, county agreements, and permits with regard to ALPR and other surveillance technologies. So we have substantial safeguards on the books preventing this problem in the future. Thank you and I yield my sign. Thank you.
Yeah, that was public comment, that was the resolution. R S one?
Okay.
