What the county recorded

This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

Um Okay, so I did another one of my bike tours of Starkey Ranch. Um this time we had Our county administrator. How's your little bee? It's fine.

Um Mike Galvin and uh the other gentleman from his um Company uh Um yeah, that engineer um was his name. was supposed to be with us from Tampa Civil. But he ended up not being able to make it, but we had a A great tour. I hope you enjoyed it. Just lots to see. Um We had our Harbor South Leadership Council meeting. I want to thank um Um Amy and Gary from Animal Services.

And code enforcement for coming to the meeting. And um Again, very informative meeting and appreciate. Appreciate staff. They have lots of questions. Right in this. Alright, so um My staff attended the Rangeland Boulevard Shop in um They said it was uh very well run, stamps very helpful. And we were answering all the questions. So they had a back room with this video running here. Um I um

wanted you to T up the wildlife corridor. Oh and I uh oh wait. What's not on here is I attended the um TMA meeting. And they could not take any action because we did not have If no one is there from Pasco County. They cannot vote on anything.

Um I intended, you know, electronically But um So I need you all to go back and listen to the meeting. Because There were some things there that were unsettling to me. Um one of them was Hillsborough County. saying that they have all figured out that um that if we had three commissioners show up for a meeting, we could control the LRTB. And I what? I went.

And then we could we can put all our stuff forward and theirs wouldn't happen. Like that would never happen. That would never happen. And so I I I couldn't believe they were saying that. But then We still have, you know, Commissioner Shear over Pinellas County and Mr. Nowicki. Right. uh thinking that Hillsborough has too great a majority, even though I said Pasco. And Pinellas. We'll have 13 to Hillsborough's Ted. Um and Hillsborough doesn't get the TED. They

split it up between. The city. Two cities, Plant City and Temple Terrace rotate. The City of Tampa gets three and Health Grove gets Five something and then Um, I think they give one to the the the expressway authority. So Um So no one person has a great majority. Actually, Penellas County ends up with more than anybody if you just look at just their well, they do divide their sub by a city. City.

So anyway, uh Afterwards I got a notice that the commission the legislative delegations in Alice County. has come out against the martyr. Um and and And there's a representative Owens, who I'm going to call, he's a friend of mine, that um had had said that if we if we don't do it, they're gonna do it. Um, and as we said before, there's been talk about us using the Tampa Bay Water. Line

up, but According to Tania, we can't do that unless laws change. Um and We had set it up so that the executive committee of the TMA, whatever it's called, It is the same format as Tampa Block. Which I was fine with and that was a great company. So I don't know if the whole thing is blown up. I talked to uh Senator Hooper about it. We're gonna see if we can't get a meeting with some of the legislators. Because I think they are totally listening

to people who have not been in the process very long and don't really understand it. Um, and all the federal rules that go around it. And so I don't know, maybe dead, may not be dead.

Lisa YeagerSecond Vice Chair

I'm I'm sharing a letter.

Yeah, I got the letter. I'm just gonna share it so everybody else can see it. I don't know if everyone else saw it, but I just sent

Kathryn Starkey

it to JD. But but that's so y'all can read the letter, but um So it may be dead, may not be dead. Yeah, uh last thing I'll talk about is this wildlife orders. This isn't the back.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

We've seen that for just over

Kathryn Starkey

three months.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Yeah.

Kathryn Starkey

Bye bye.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

The problem is like the total is worth it. Was it like total of like uh maybe have like at least one extra vote between us and Penellus?

Unidentified speakerVoice B

Yes,

Unidentified speakerVoice A

we have thirteen.

Unidentified speakerVoice B

Found the airport.

We were still in the majority. That was in change that I thought was going to be pretty well accepted.

Kathryn Starkey

Yeah, and and I just don't believe that the airport and the port Are but they're they're thinking how are people gonna get down here from other places? They're not thinking about how they How they move around their own county. Remember, remember the whole purpose for this is to do a regional. regional transportation plan like The B R T. Okay, which goes from Wesley Chapel to St. Pete. Saint Pete's already started on a big part of theirs. They've got the

bridge done. Right? They have their part of the draft of BRT done. So the project that would probably be the first project that we would all do would be from the airport to Wesley Chapel and and so you start going through Tampa and making So I think they keep thinking this is their parochial projects. There are projects within their county and it's not. This is the big regional, these are the big regional projects. They just can't

get their heads around that.

Unidentified speakerVoice A

Decision I had with Ralph earlier today was to be of I like where we're moving. I like the fact that we're going to be taking and make sure we still have our funds that we had coming to us. And the only difference with the speed with the regional is they're going to get extra money from the federal.
