Flock cameras removed and camera access
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
This archive found it in the recording: a call to order, a recess, or business the board never listed. The county recorded nothing about it, so everything below is our reading.

just got one item I want to bring up. I think we all got the letter from the Sheriff's Office. They are not going to Uh they've taken down all the flock cameras by October fifteenth, which I think is great. Well, that leaves us with others that are still out in the cover. And I'm taking the stand that I want to consider it. I'm not even gonna give you much discussion on it today, but I'm gonna throw it out there. I think it's something we should look at to just We'll look at bringing back something. We could just eliminate these. automatic lesson plate reader devices in the counting period. And those have done it. Just
one morning.
Why? With what? The ALP is an automatic place. play play views. With the flo like like flock cameras with another view.
No, no, we like it in our neighborhood because if someone gets robbed, we know who to call. Yeah. No, we invited the key one there. Yeah. And What helps me feel safe at my house?
Just can't. that doesn't even act on them and they've got to go through a process. Chase you want to come up and talk to that? There's nothing like they could just Tell the sheriff to go look at this now.
Now it's a whole other setup.

Sheriff's Office. Um so to uh to Commissioner Weightman uh yes, the sheriff's offices no longer have have access. Uh so her letter sent to the board, I believe, uh September 23rd-ish, something like that. We have uh removed all the cameras or reached out to uh the vendors clock and access on asking to remove the cameras. I believe Clock confirmed this week or last week that they have removed all of those for simply cutting the stranders letter. Uh and then Act or then Flock is also in the process of removing those. I know they've been removed from the
state right-ways as well. Um pursuant to that letter, we have also terminated all of our access agreements. Uh so we no longer have access to the three vendors that I previously discussed with this board, um, which was Flock, Axon, and Vigilant, which were which were Motorola. Um we no longer have access to those databases. Uh so if
I can get into volume either. Blooms as well.
No Every, we we are we are maintaining our iPods. Yeah, we we we are maintaining the iPhones. Uh and how it'll work uh moving forward is is very similar to uh surveillance footage. So for instance, if someone is at a Best Buy for something and Best Buy says that they have surveillance footage of them committing some crime, robbing or something, um Best Buy then provides that footage to us. You know, perhaps it's on a DVD, maybe they upload it to some kind of evidence portal or something like that, uh then we have access to that. Uh moving forward, private licensing kit readers will operate the same way.
So those that are in HOAs or C D D's or private property. We no longer have access to to any of those searches or conduct or to conduct searches, but those private property owners could search their own network and then upload it to um or provide it to us through that uh stamp PDF that the board was to show on the PowerPoint. Okay.
With association building, we want to protect itself with cameras to show it. But there's still to be that Fourth Amendment's out there if that data's available to other people to
drive in my neighborhood. You don't want to Kim but sorry for sure.
Kim the the rock camp then that will not be available to be active as long as Fox or action, et cetera. Take that death.
Didn't use up wood.
So
I'm I'm not aware of of of other vendors. Um I I'm sure there there may be some, but I don't know if there are other vendors that have been flawed RAXCOM. Someone could just get a camera.
To report. Do not share the data with others. That's okay. Yes, sir. That that that's correct. So my problem with it is to me it's It's the Fourth Amendment. If you want to have your own camera to go take it and then share the sheriff's office, I'm gonna go look at it, so be it. But to have that data. Why citizens being shared around the nation with the people we don't know on the world? I'm sorry for words. I don't want to talk about it any more, but I just wanted to bring it out there to say I think we should consider it. it. So thank you for all your
clear we we we no longer have have access to
and really
