1:18:39Here's the call with public works. Uh this is the public hearing for uh PW220034. And this is Calvary Road, PVAS number 3388. This is one street, discounted, maintained, and paved. The total project estimated cost is $301,262. Maximum cost for ERU is $2,596.26. The discounted amount is $36,143.09, and the maximum cost per ERU after discount is $2,197.19.

1:19:12There were uh possibly $114 votes, um, 41 responded, and of that number, 23, which is 56%, were in favor of the project. Um forty four percent was against the project. Annual amortization is over a 10 year period and the interest rate is 3.25% interest. This is a location map. And this uh conditional for road and staff is recommending approved.

1:20:08My name is Margaret Platterborgs. I live at [address removed]. I own four parcels and I have been sworn in. Calvary Road has a lot of issues that don't have anything to do with the road. We do have a road. It may not be the best road in Pasco County, but it is a road. A lot of my neighbors don't have a road at all. Their roads are dirt. I am the applicant to repave Calvary Road. I put in this petition twenty years ago. I was number ninety-eight. I thought by this point in time that

1:20:39they would have progressed with my area. It's not a subdivision. It's a very rural area. And uh but unfortunately that didn't happen. We have natural drainage that's been there for fifty years. The uh federal government came along and in my side of the street they put in a sidewalk in the natural drainage. So instead of the rain going into the dri uh into the ground, it now rolls down the sidewalk. It floods out my property, it floods out the man's property next door. He needs a boat to get into his driveway. The natural

1:21:09drainage goes on a in a pipe. under the road to the other side, which the county owns an acre and a half of land, which I keep maintained because the county refuses to do that. the natural drainage swift mud comes out and they says, Oh yes, it's draining just fine. It couldn't possibly be draining fine because then the water would not be standing there. and the golf courts and the kids would not be mud sliding through all the water if the water was not there. Gulf Winds is directly across the street from my property. Gulf

1:21:39Winds is built up so high that that now I feel like when I look out my window, I'm in someone's basement. In the twenty years since I put in this application, they have put in three mobile home parks. There are dump trucks going up and down the road, much less like the gentleman that spoke before me. That is a very long narrow road. We are not getting a wider road. There are a lot of commercial vehicles. Everyone in the world has a pickup truck. They have dump trucks, tree trimmers, landscape people. The road is very busy. It's

1:22:10the in and the out to my area. Uh I really would appreciate it if you right now we do not need a road. We have no streetlights. I haven't had a trick-or-treater in forty years. Right.

1:22:26But the two I'm sorry. No, you have

1:22:29It's okay. The two and a half inches of asphalt drainage is a big issue. Every the roads flood out. We are riding along the side of the road because you can't get two cars

1:22:42And the um asphalt and water do not mix. If we do this road right now before we address the other issues, we're just putting a band-aid on the problem. Because the water and the asphalt don't mix. Uh Ainsley has already told me that for two and a half months the asphalt stays very soft, that they recommend instead of just uh stopping and turning into your driveway that you Just do a round turn because of the softness of the asphalt. Well, the kids that are drag racing up

1:23:12and down the road doing donuts. It's d it's gonna destroy the road before it even gets started. So I would really appreciate it if you would take and we can address maybe but put to table this until we can address some of the other issues, the drainage being the bigger issue.

1:23:45With all uh PIVAS projects, we do road related drainage. I was on site and I met with the applicant or the um the petition leader, and um she pointed out some concerns. I have passed it on to our stormwater our road-related drainage team, and they're gonna address it. Bear in mind that all of this be addressed if it is a approved any road related drainage, any road related drainage will be addressed before we actually do paving.
