I'm pleased to introduce our recommendation for our new code compliance director, Ms. Denise Sanderson. She has over 15 years of leadership in local government. Most recently, At the City of St. Pete Beach, where she was a community develop interim community development director. And then prior to that, about 13 years of experience with the City of
Clearwater. She started her career in the Florida area working with Pasco County Economic Development. And she is really excited to. um continue to contribute to the community and I believe that she would be a fantastic fit for our team, particularly because her values align with ours and supporting the mission and vision in the direction that we want to go in Pasco County. So with that I'd like to turn it over to Ms. Sandy. Henderson to uh provide just a couple
of brief words and then following that I would uh recommend um that uh her approval of confirmation as a code compliance director. Thank you.

Good morning. How are you? I'm good, good. Good. Welcome back. Thank you, Madam Chair. It's a pleasure to be back. I've as David said, I've spent many years in Pinellas County and it's good to be home. This has always felt like home. I grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York and this community really resonates with me. It's certainly changed a lot since I last worked here. Uh but my time at Pasco EDC gave me a great opportunity to get to know the community as it was then. And so I'm very much looking forward to working in the community,
working with all of you, working with the team. I had the opportunity to meet some of them this morning and I know I'm excited to get going. So thank you very much.
Well, um, you have a a big job ahead of you and uh I I am uh a big user of the code enforcement opportunities. So I know we'll be working well together. Or do you have a list for you? What she's doing now. What she's doing now is giving you a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little

Denise, if I remember when you went to Clearwater, one of the things you were doing was put you put in those mid-block crossings and those refugees isn't that right on uh along the Gulf Bowl. Didn't you work on those?
I did not know. I I when I went to Pasco County, it was to lead their economic development effort implementing economics. Development strategic plan and was promoted in 2016 to lead the within that department to be director overseeing affordable housing community development. And so have a great deal of experience working with homelessness. I led the city's homeless initiative for eight years. in that organization and so I have a great deal of experience. I understand
the conflicts that arise with with sprawl and growth and so I'm looking forward to working with not only with my team but across the entire organization to address problems that we see in our community. Um from time to time and and those that also are are sustained over time that need to be addressed.
