Kringle Jingle race and airport moratorium
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

What was said
Machine transcription of 3m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 90% of 31 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.
I just would like to say I did attend the Kringle Jingle so five K race for Toys for Tots. So if you do see a Toys for Tots box out in the community, please be as generous as you can and drop a toy in. Um Secondly, because we discussed this earlier, of course, airports are an economic driver and they're a good thing to have in the county. We have interlocal agreements with them. Staff is actively working on the airport zoning regulations that will protect the future use and expansion of the airports.
The regulations will not be effective until later 2022 as the adoption process is lengthy and staff is doing the work without.
I'm proposing that we put a place a moratorium on the development around the airports to protect the airports until we're going to be able to do that. The airport protection plan can be adopted. Staff currently has the maps that are referred to as Part 77 surface maps that can be used to identify the moratorium area around each of the airports, and I'm proposing the six month extension more six-month moratorium with the option to extend for an additional six months if needed.
Would you repeat that please? That's probably not something I would support.
It does
everyone have this? What
is that?
It's just basically it's putting a moratorium around the airport, so within the airport protection plan, it's about fifteen hundred feet around Hidden Lakes is an example of the moratorium. Just and this is just until staff can finalize the documents for the airport zoning regulation.
I thought that was uh I thought I was almost done. Were we not gonna like approve it today?
You approve the CONTAM member. No, we
concluded
that.
Sally Sherman, Assistant County Administrator Development Services. Uh we're in the process of selecting a consultant to do the airport noise study. Um so we do anticipate once we select a consultant that it's not going to really take an inordinance amount of time.
I mean I'm I'm okay with it.
Isn't there there's an air the Compaq? Is that your airport in your district? Compaq?
Compark. Compark?
Well it's not Compark,
it's
it's the Tampa North Aero Park, yeah. Hidden Lakes, Tampa North Aero Park,
Pilot
Country.
Well they already have all their entitlements. So yeah, sorry, she was just asking a question about comprehensive planning.
Zephyrhills. Zephyrhills? You
want
a more time around Zephyrhills?
Yeah, that's not in a in the county.
Yeah. I mean there's nothing around I'm trying to Compark of the Bayonet Point. I just
I'm
just
wondering if it's necessary, that's all. Moratorium is a you know it's a big stick.
Yeah.
