Public comment on items not on today's agenda
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.
The source document

What was said
Machine transcription of 11m of recording, with speaker names inferred from voice matching. 85% of 101 lines carry a name. It shows what was said, not what was decided, and both the words and the names can be wrong.
Now you're going to public comment. Oh,
public comment.
Before your consent agenda. All
right, so now is the time. S if anyone wishes to address the the county commission on any item That is not on today's agenda.
That's on the consent agenda or anything you might futurally take take up. Yes. Yes.
Now's
your time. Does anyone want to speak to us? We do have some signed up, so I'm going to call them first. Um Devin Brown is the first individual who has signed up.
Mr. Brown, are you still with us? Might have given up. Okay, behind him is Leonard Lord.
Uh can you can you c oh he had to l leave?
Pastor Lord had to leave, he
said
give me his time or I can leave.
Okay, um do you want did you sign up also? Yes ma'am. Okay, well then stand by. I will probably get to you soon. Um and then Denise Dallas. Please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record.
Energy Bunish sworn. Or you don't like it to be sworn in the right-of-way. Yeah, no,
this
is
just public comment.
It feels weird.
It's a
weird day.
My name is Denise Dallas. I live on [address removed] in a holiday. It's called Orange Villas villas or something and there's progress. I would like to appreciate Kathryn Starkey, your um associate Jen? I can't pronounce her. There you go. French. She's been very um Paper pen pushing, everything getting done. Um with a drainage ditch that's been compromised since I bought
my house in two thousand. I didn't know who to call. So a neighbor on Lemonwood Loop, which I live on Fruitwood Loop. Lemonwood Loop is to uh the north. Um our streets have been flooding. When it lightly rains, heavily rains, hurricane rain ra wind and rain. And it's devastating to the road, or should say roads, and everywhere else in our little orange village has been paved except for us, where the stepchild, I guess, I'm not sure. But
I would just like to emphasize um my our appreciation for your efforts in getting the drainage to working uh getting it starting to be fixed because the engineers came out and flagged it and they said they'll be back. They're working on Janice right now and um just our appreciation. My only concern is when it gets fixed Um, are they going to pay the roads or do we have to wait till twenty twenty seven?
Um Oh Okay, this is not a conversation time.
You can get back to me.
Yes, we'll get back to
you.
Or you can go over there and uh my Jenny's in my office right now. Beat
somebody up. No,
don't
you know?
And she can show you how to um get on the county website and see when your road is gonna be paved.
Okay. So I think I already got that date and it's twenty twenty seven. Okay, well then
that's
probably
Yeah. Yeah. So Um I was trying to see if we've we we did some drainage projects in that area, but um wanna make sure that someone from your community is attending the Harbor South Leadership Council meeting. Ooh. So I didn't know
about that one.
So if you don't mind going in there and talking to Jenny, um just go out the store and around the around. Yep,
yep. Thank
you. Okay. Thank you. Because we talk about all those things there.
Okay, the next individual signed up is Tommy McGrath.
Actually she said, What she said? Okay, what she said. Thank you, sir. Um okay, so the next is hmm.
Thomas Thomas, Thomas, I cannot I I think so, sir. If yes, if you can come to the podium and tell us your name and address for the record. Thank you.
My name is uh Thomas Plunkett. Address is [address removed]. Good afternoon, Madam Chairman Mariano. Council. And commissioners. I have uh my backyard is facing the Harbor.
What's it called now? The Gulf Harbor. Give me one second. What was this
address? It you said anchor of
Gulf Harbor on your Anchor of Gulf Harbor.
What was the address?
Can you
give us your address again?
Sure [address removed]. D L K N E R.
Okay.
First of all, Commissioner Mariano, thank you very much for all you did. after the hurricane. With the debris rem removal.
We got a great team right here.
The whole team. Thank you. Um I have no idea what is going on as far as they've elevated The uh work development about thirty feet so far.
Oh you're by the Dominium development.
Yes.
Okay.
And I'm kinda in the dark and I don't know which way to go. I don't know what the plans are. All I know is what was kinda in the newspaper, a three hundred and eighty eight unit.
Commissioner, that's in the city of Newport,
which I don't want any runoff of water coming. I paid a hundred and sixty thousand dollars to renovate my home. After the hurricane.
Um that is a city of Newport Rachie project, so I would you might want to go over there to downtown.
Okay.
But they're not allowed to flood you out, so
Well, I appreciate that.
Yeah.
Thank you very much. Thank you. Good day.
Okay. And then the next individual who signed up is Pastor Troy Peterson.
I have uh National Day of Prayer flyers.
Okay, name and address for the record first, if you don't mind.
Troy Peterson, [address removed].
Okay, thank you.
Murder Ruseum Val.
Second. All in favor? Aye. Aye.
So what you have there is the uh national day of prayer. Uh flyer. And uh You know, it's interesting to see on there seventy fourth annual National Day of Prayer. That's That's pretty impressive, isn't it? Seventy-fourth. Annual. And this year, um, I I really like the scripture. There's also bracelets there for y'all. Um And it comes right out of Romans uh chapter
fifteen Starting in verse thirteen, now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace. in believing that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost. And I myself this is the Apostle Paul writing and persuaded of you, my brethren, that you also be full of goodness and filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. When I
think of that knowledge that understanding I'm just reminded Uh We're I've learned that I get my wisdom from Because I kinda look at myself as not the the sharpest tool in the shed and you know, I don't have this doctorate and stuff like that. But I have an understanding that the wisdom that God co gives me is from having a fear
of the Lord. And I believe that's what we really need to get back. On You know, the book of James uh in chapter four talks about there being one lawgiver. That being Jesus the Christ who is able to save Or Destroy. In the book of Isaiah. Thirty three talks about For the Lord is our judge. And Our law giver And
Our king. He shall save us. Jesus also talks about this And Matthew ten years. You know, that we don't fear what Man will
But God, because he is able to kill the body, but rather fear him which is able to destroy both body and body. and soul. And so we're talking about the fear of the Lord. We see in the early acts of the church great fear came upon the people, And You know, Peter said it like this, if could if you could imagine A fisherman. Going and speaking to the council, the religious leaders. And
they beat him, they throw him in jail, angels come, and open up the prison doors. and God tells them to go right back into that that temple and preach to Jesus. See what was happening is they were forbidding him To preach in the name of Jesus. But I thank you for your time.
Thank you very much. Okay, do we have anyone else signed in?
No one else has signed up.
I don't know if there's anyone in the audience.
Okay.
Anybody
did you want to speak to the county commission? Come on up. All right, come on up.
Okay.
I apologize if I miss you.
What's your name?
My
name's Carol Clark, [address removed]. All right, thank you. I'd like to speak to P56. Uh zoning amendment for enclave at Livingston. May I speak about that?
That was continu that was the one we said whoever was here for that it's being continued and you I
don't understand what that means. This is my first time here.
So they didn't take action on it. It was not taken up. Uh-huh. It was continued to
May twentieth. So May twentieth would be the day you would come back and speak to that item.
One thirty?
One thirty.
Mm-hmm. Yes, ma'am.
Yep. Here. Yep.
Thank you very much. Okay.
