The event this morning was very nice to be at and uh we had a beautiful day here in Pasco County and Um We're very proud of Moffett bringing all the technology to Pasco County that they are. and hopefully it not only be assistance to all the health of our citizens in Pasco County. But all over

2:08:16All over the state of Florida and and further out. So I think it'll have it's it's the only machine, I believe, of its type. uh proton machine of its type in the southeast. So they will have far reaching uh care going out from that machine bringing people in. Sorry. But yes, enjoyed that very much.

2:08:45Uh yeah, we approved yesterday the uh Test well in the northeast part. So that That'll give us a test well in that area about the aquifer. that we haven't had before. We have it in other areas in in the Tri County. But This will be the first one in Pasco County up here at that level. So

2:09:05Um just so you know, Tampa Bay Water has been up to Amskills a number of times. And um they are working on a uh project for um tr uh to train in public utilities l like uh camper Bay Water. They're very excited about it. They brought in we also have U S water Um Pasco County Utilities. a a whole group of Penelis Pinellas County Attorney, they have a little consortium, a lot of those little towns. And uh P Penellas

2:09:35County utilities was up last week, so Um very exciting to see how we can help them keep get a pipeline going so they can um keep their workforce up because a lot of people are getting ready to retire in those industries. So All right,

So hopefully we'll get it back to how it was last year. And then um update on the area of agents um aging, Duke Energy uh wrote them a check. for forty thousand dollars which was nice. Um the not so great update was the Department of Elder Affairs informed um That it only received

2:11:54one hundred and four thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars for three months of funding. So and they normally receive twelve months of funding in their contracts. So this is due to uh everything going on in Congress. So they're waiting to see what their funding's going to be. So along with the state, everybody's just waiting. So this is an event they're having, a day in the life of a senior. They're gonna have things um that you put on to stimul to simulate, you know, what it feels like to be elderly and moving

I actually voted against it in the sense of I months ago asked about looking for a reservoir option. I know staff has been working together. Oh with Tampay Water to get with Army Corps of Engineers to look at the Four Rivers project. They want to work in tandem, so I'm encouraged to say after talking to Chuck Carden. I'm I'm

2:13:04I'm feeling good that they are working on that to study that option. I think it's important we look at all options. As great as the res reservoir was worked out. For the region, I think it should be a top priority rather than more well drilling, especially when you have people on septic systems and there could be other issues for down the road. So I'm happy to see that uh Chuck is willing to work with you, Mike, as we talked at the Tri Co Tri-County Workshop uh meeting a few months back. Um Question for um the staff as well. Sometimes we're gonna

2:13:34do a road and we'll use We we're gonna put trees up and right now Ridge Road's gonna get some trees on it and we're using the they're gonna use the they're gonna use the um uh Transportation. uh fund for it. And I think it'd be better served for us just to spend the taller dollars easier to stretch more roads and sidewalks that we need. Instead of using the uh transportation funds, let's go try to use tree mitigation funds. Uh

Uh I wanna I wanna compliment staff on the uh C D B G DR town halls they've run. Uh I guess the last one was last night, couldn't quite get to that one out in Dade City, but uh the ones they had in holiday and also in uh Hudson, very well attended, great feedback. Uh it's gonna be enough to put I think a presentation forward for HUD to hopefully ba get back in August, then we can get to the nuts and bolts as far as what we really wanna go do. Uh

2:14:56I wanna congratulate the Mercy Marine uh Institute down in Port Ritchie. Uh it's a school board project that donated by the Meisner family many years ago. Uh and they had a great uh group of folks down there and I wanna say that uh while I was there as working on the aquatic preserve I've took advantage of trying to like work with talking to Fish and Wildlife, had a conversation down there. talk to our people from the institute as well about trying to get a letter of support. Um met with the Salt

2:15:27Strong Alliance and uh both the Marine Institute and Salt Strong Alliance were both willing and did uh give me a letter uh of support for the aquatic preserve. And that's been sent up. working with the Senate right now and Fish and Wildlife They don't do letters of support, but they did a letter or an email of like no objection explaining their position. Uh so hopefully that may help us attach it to a bill that's going on up there. So here's a picture of the uh at Sun West. Uh that's the Bandies

2:15:57family actually. And I tell you, they did a phenomenal job as a as a contractor working that through. But uh the son and daughter both project managers coordinators and there's Mr. Bandy's on the second from the right. Um Just really love the project, proud to do it and uh I think they and all the other contractors did a phenomenal job and our and our team did a phenomenal job as well. Um The five K run was very well attended. Uh the petitions were great. No, I was given instructions to get there at eight fifteen.

2:16:27So I'm calling Mike at eight twenty two, like I'm almost there. He says, Jack, they already started running it. So they started at eight fifty they start at eight fifteen. Uh turned out to be a godsend for me. Number one number one, not to have to run against him. Number two, uh I kind of looked at like there were two passer runners going around. So one was going faster, we're going to the right side, so I went I mean to the left side, so I went to the right side. Then I was able to video it all the way around the lake talking about what was going on, what had happened on it. And uh three times during it, as I'm going through my whole

Um and Seth reminded me way back when when Will Wenthavid was speaker, uh or at least in office, uh he went around with him on a one of the tours I gave to kind of show him the project and uh Seth, you were Pretty pleased with what you saw compared to what we started out with.

We had the funds in to do the first trail from from before, you know, around the first lake, which made it great to to to complete that all the way around. But I'll tell you, doing that second lake is gonna make such a difference. difference for that whole park. I mean for tourism, for everything else, really, really set us I think apart from there's nothing else like this anywhere. So
