County history and Premier County

1:12:01Okay. Well I'd like to echo some of the uh thoughts that uh Commissioner Starkey has said about Uh what we want in our county. We've got a Premier County and we're headed that way. Um We started talking about more landscaping and more architectural views. And on and on about how we want our communities to look rather than just houses standing there with with no landscape or anything. So it's been very responsive

1:12:32and r um from a lot of different avenues, from developers, lawyers, uh engineers. They're all accepting what we really want. And I think uh we'll end up with a lot better communities than what we've had here now. So Uh

1:12:50some are some are very good.

1:12:51And some are very good. Don't get me wrong.

1:12:52Some are a little lacking.

1:12:54Yep, some are just lacking. Uh we don't want that type thing. We want to be Premier and we want our community to be a place where very uh favorable for all of our citizens to live in and be proud of where they live and be a Part of Pasco County. And with that I'd like to say, you know, go back in history. And you gotta be thankful for all the employees, all the staff members and all. here today and all those in the past They got us to this point because at

1:13:24this point We're getting closer to being Premier. But without the history we have and the leadership and the different people that Added to what we do. And ourselves and the last A few years being here. Never been here before, so we We've got us to this point. Well we're very close to being a Premier County. So I wanna thank you for all of the All of what you do, all of what the staff does, all the employees Uh we have many employees that have worked here for the county

1:13:54for thirty thirty plus years and and give their all for this county. And so for everyone that's been a part of making this history And those that are here today that are gonna make that future even brighter for our Premier County. I gotta be very thankful for all of you. I appreciate everything everybody does each day. Some of us probably think that Uh They don't necessarily agree sometimes with what some person's doing, but

1:14:24the fact of it is that's our history. that takes all that knowledge and all that for us to make the right decisions. based on our staff and based on what we all do. to become that Premier County. And we're very, very close. And I th I'm very proud to say that I'm a resident of Pasco County and also I'm proud to be an American in Pasco County. and uh I can't be any more thankful than being in a city I was

1:14:54born in and grew up in a Dade City. to be three blocks from where I grew up. and understand what's happening around us and And seeing

1:15:07that has changed because of whether it be weather Crops change. Um The economy changes up and down. And to a point where we're growing almost faster than we can take care of it. Sally will agree, I'm sure. So So it's it's just a lot of work. And we appreciate everything y'all do. But um I look for a better tomorrow because of everything y'all do and I I commend you on all the work that
