10 day scallop season and employee raises

49:52Well thank you, Chairman. Um just two things. First, I we just wrapped up the 10 day scallop season. Um, I can tell you it was, you know, all three years. This is the third year we've done it. All three years has been great. This year, I mean, it was tremendous. Uh, I can't tell you, I know, I know Chairman Mariano you said you're out there opening day um to see all the boats, to see all the families. I can't can't even describe what it means to me uh to see it. Um, you know, there's a Facebook uh site called Florida Scallop Group. which is a statewide

50:22group and everyone's talking about Pasco County, which is a good thing. Um folks are there, the restaurants were packed on the river, or you couldn't even get in, the three restaurants that on the river had Cody. Um, you know, Ms. Vicki's on on the Ankl River was packed. So it's, you know, they're spending money here, which is great. Um, you know, the FWC, they really couldn't do any numbers this year because of the CDC guidelines. Normally they would go to the boat ramps and ask folks how they did, but I can tell you looking at the the Florida scallop group, and and to me, it's not about limiting out, it's about going out there,

50:52having a good time, getting as much as you need to. that you want to eat, not limiting out, but But there's a lot of folks talking about they limit it out. So they will be doing a post scallop count at some point. And we will be involved with them with volunteers like Keith's teams, Adam's team. I'll be out there. I'll let you all know if you want. And we're going to be getting some volunteers to count. kind of the numbers. I've already had conversations with Tom Gray from FWC. How important it would be to all of us to have a 30-day season next year. I think it's worth doing because

51:22I really feel, and if we look at the numbers, we'll probably have the same number of folks over 30 days we would over 10 because everybody scrambled to get here for the two weekends we have. Um, and we're talking thousands of boats, but it was it was an awesome season. So I just want to thank everybody for. for everything they did to support that, Adam's team, Keith's team. I know the opening day, the Anglo Boat Ramp was closed at 8 30. That's how busy it was. And we've got 120 spots there. So look looking forward to adding the 150 spots here soon that I know Keith's working

51:53on and so is Karbala. Right, Mike? So um And one more thing, I just want to follow up. I know a couple of weeks ago I spoke to you all about raises for employees. Um, I know Dan has it in the budget to do a 2% raise. I really think it's important. I know I've heard from Commissioner Oakley that he supports this. Yeah, you know, to give you an idea, the impact on the general fund for increasing It to two to three is about five hundred and sixty thousand dollars. Um In May, the sales

52:23tax receipts 1.4% above what we thought they were going to be and 850,000 above. We're predicting with the month due to the COVID. So we have the money. Um You know, so thank you, Dan, for for giving me that information. You know, we built that into the five-year budget pro protection plan. If anybody has any questions for Dan, that would be fine. But I'd like to make a motion for us to give the What I just say an additional one percent is that so an additional one percent increase for fiscal year 2020. What?
