Matthew Muns appointed, Liz Smallwood state attorney's office
What the county recorded
This item is not from the published agenda
It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

before you adjourn
I was going to, but
do you want to
kinda tag team on it?
Go ahead. Go ahead. You d you start.
Okay. All right. So um all
right.
Sure, of course. Thank you.
And we uh Can we uh ask you all to go talk out in the other room so we can hear we're
now gonna talk about other business not related to this item. Can I just say one thing before we thanks for letting me know? Just so I understand. I've never been to one of these obviously, but um they're gonna get together with us and we're gonna talk about it. We're gonna come back to you guys and you're gonna decide what you can do. Right. And we can be here, but since we've already spoke, we're not gonna be allowed to speak.
You got it. Perfect. Perfect summary. All right, thank you. Appreciate you coming.
Thank you so much.
Yeah.
A troublemaker.
I try my best.
Somebody's gotta do it.
All right. Great. So I just wanted to uh let the Planning Commission members know that at the last board meeting at the last Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Weightman appointed uh Matthew Muns uh to serve on the Planning Commission uh for hi for for h the his appointment to the planning commission. That that his appointment will begin on May second. uh 2024 which is the next planning commission meeting at 130 in Dade City. S m many of you may know who Matthew Muns or
Matt Munns is, uh but basically he is a he's an engineer, so now we'll have another engineer on the planning commission. Boy,
too many engineers.
Um he uh bring my
I'm feeling really lonely. I'm gonna
bring three chomps.
Um he actually served on the planning board for the City of Dade City, and I believe he may be resigning that that seat. And um he's a a PE and currently works for a company called Kennedy Jenks. And he has a uh he has more than 10 years, I think at this point probably 13 years or so of experience uh with uh Florida-based utilities. And if that if the name Muns is is sounds familiar, um I had the
uh uh the privilege of working with his father, Bill Munns, who was the Chief Assistant County Administrator in the nineties and the two thousands and probably even in the very late eighties as well. So um so we'll uh we'll get to meet and uh uh Matt Matt Munn's uh on May second. David, anything.
No, you handled it perfectly. The only other thing I wanna say is that um Liz Smallwood, this is her basically her last day that she's gonna be joining us.
Why did you not tell us so we would have like done a celebration?
Here, have a trouble.
She's accepted a position with the state attorney's office, so unless you all get into trouble, you probably won't see her again. So stay out of trouble. So you don't We'll
miss you and
I don't want to
see you again.
We scared her off from land use. Maybe one day. She'd rather deal with criminals than you all. I can understand that. We're harder to deal with.
So we wish her well in our new endeavors. Yes, good luck.
