Public comment on items not on today's agenda

2:42All right, thank you. So do we have anybody here at this meeting that wants to speak about something that is not on today's agenda?

2:51Uh we do have two individuals signed up for public comment, Mr. Chair. Uh the first individual is David Eagle.

3:06No, he's the president of Moff at Doctor Who. David Engel, Planning, Development and Economic Growth. Um I have just some three quick items for the uh for the Planning Commission. I won't take my full three minutes. First thing is I wanted to note that on 1021, uh Mr. Gray and myself attended the Board of County Commissioners meeting in Newport Ritchie and the uh the board declared uh community planning month and just wanted to let the planning commission know that the board expressed enormous appreciation for your act active role

3:36here, charting our future and making Pasco a better place to live and uh and to grow. And um and and they were very appreciative of what what you do as volunteers and also the expertise you bring to the table. You're a highly skilled group of people. Secondly, the uh the Board of County Commissioners is noting that on 1020, the Planning Commission will will take up again the tree protection ordinance and uh they appreciate the diligence that's been uh conducted here by the Planning Commission on this very important

4:06initiative. But they are requesting, if at all possible, could you complete your deliberation on 1020 and so we can move it. Or 1120, excuse me, so we can move it forward because the board is very anxious to to discuss it and deliberate themselves on this. Uh the last thing is is uh Chairman Starkey and also uh Mike Krabala, the County Administrator, extend an invitation to one or two Planning Commission members. Uh we'll be attending the Congress of New Urbanism um conference

4:36next year on from May 11. eleventh to May sixteenth. It'll be in Bentonville, Arkansas. It's a great opportunity. I've attended several of these CNU conferences, and you get a chance to visit extraordinarily um uh great projects, good urban design, um hitting the market at the right time through placemaking, creating value. And these type of field trips are important because you'll be able to talk to the developers, the bankers, and understand how how we

5:06can do sustainable long-term good urban design. I think we have some pro some developers here in the county already that have that mind You can take the porters over at Wiregrass. They're taking the long view. They're doing things deliberately, building value in the project. They'll ultimately make more money than a you know a publicly traded builder that's in and out on a project. We also have it with Avalon Park, with B. Cali. He's taking the longer view. He actually is building commercial and retail and vertical

Uh I saw an ad in the legal section uh advertising a road, said the meeting was in Ridge Manor in Ando County. and went to it, that was October the twenty second, and found out that I When I read more and got home that it sounds like it's a thirty-eight mile

6:42highway, four lanes, going from Ayers Road, and at the meeting they gave you three different Quarters. They're up there. And if you look at them all, they all drop off at the Blanton Road I-75 exit. Every single one of 'em. And I have no idea why they decided to do that when they've got Highway fifty that's been over already built to handle

7:12the traffic. But this this road I know it takes a long time uh to build roads, but they didn't give us much time for public input. At the end of that meeting I asked Anna, the project manager, if she could um send some extra material on it so I could get the word out. And she said, yeah, that was great. I got it last Tuesday. and then I read on it that it was due on Wednesday if anybody wanted to

7:43make public comments. So I called her up and I said, Well can we have a little bit more time? And she says, I'll give you to the end of the week. I said, Well that's only four days. And she said, that's all. And I said, well what about another meeting? in Pasco County. because it ends up in Pasco. I knew three fourths of it is in Hernando, but I felt that we deserved it too. The place they put the meeting in Ridge Manor is about

8:13five miles away from the study area. So people in the study area that might not have noticed it and they did they did do a legal advertisement. I think I saw something on Facebook. And I liked the way the meeting was presented, but The rest of it is not acceptable. Not with maybe only a month for public to get in their information on whether they liked it or not. There were these three alternatives and then the

8:43no-build. They give us little green things to put on them and the m most one was on the no-build, but if you add the other ones up together, it probably eclipsed it. Yeah. But anyways, I I just think so watch out for F D O T. I think that's really a bad way to get the information and let the public respond to it. Thank you all.
