Planning Commission final decision body and meeting format

What the county recorded

This item is not from the published agenda

It is a stretch of the recording that this archive identified as a separate matter — a call to order, a recess, or something taken up that the agenda does not list. There is no official title, no staff recommendation and no disposition, because the county never recorded one. Everything below is inferred.

Planning the Planning Commission is the final decision making body for special exceptions, certain appeals, variance requests, and certain alternative standard requests. However, um any final decisions may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. If anyone's in opposition to any Land Development Code Amendment, rezoning, Planning Commission, uh it or any item where we transmit a recommendation to the Planning Commission, it would be important for you to attend the appropriate Board

of County Commissioners. Those of you who are not familiar with the format of our meetings, there are three sections. There are typically continuances, consent agenda items, and regular items. Continuances were items that where the applicant or the county staff have requested a continuance for any number of reasons. It's been our c tradition to grant continuances unless they're extenuating circumstances.

And then we have consent items. Those are the items that uh Where the applicant has made an application and we've not received any objection from the staff or or from the public, this will go on consent. We'll go through those items. I think we have one today. And if there's uh people here that want to have it heard, raise your hand and we will pull it from consent and that'll move to the regular items and those are the items that we will fully vet and and discuss and uh applicant

will offer their uh plan or proposal and anyone here that has comments will have an opportunity to speak. Uh the applicant will have uh five minutes to make the presentation and the questioners will have three minutes to ask their questions each.

So um we also prior to getting the um main part of the meeting started. We have uh a period for public comment on any items that are not on today's agenda. So we'll do that in a minute. Uh let me mention before I do that that we uh want everybody to make sure you have any phones silenced. So if that's uh Uh if you have your phone with you, just put it on silent or turn it off so we don't interrupt

anybody. And for those of of you who do speak do plan to speak today, if you please stand and raise your right hand and be sworn. Anybody who plans to speak.
